How much of it is simple mechanics? I think it'd be simpler for us all if the car analogy fully worked for the human being, but we're not cars. We are complex beings part of complex systems. We can't just simply replace things. (Yes modern surgery is amazing, but any surgery is an insult to the system in some way even if saving or simplifying someone's life) I like to joke that structural building architecture like houses are easy compared to human architecture. Buildings don't go on binges, have emotional outbursts, and stressful days. Buildings are only designed to receive gravity in one direction.
