she understands because she has too.     she knows the two of them aren’t the only ones,    either   -----    but there’s no comfort in hearing other people have it just as bad.      there’s no comfort in knowing that this is just the way life has to be.       they can’t all expect to make it out alive,     families staying together and never faltering.     she lost her father before the ark was sent down,     her mother before anyone else got the chance to make it down to the ground,     her husband when she was locked in the bunker.      it was just HER.      having hayley and her family made that bearable,      but now,    it’s just them.      the bunker has taught them to be cold and to be ruthless,     to stay guarded and never let any sort of weakness show,     yet the memory of those fallen family members always reminds her that she is still human.
