HBO Max Pacts Distribution Deal With Disney's Owned Streaming Service Hulu
WarnerMedia has set its latest distribution deal for HBO Max, setting a deal with Hulu for the forthcoming streaming service to be available to subscribers to Huluβs live TV bundle.
The deal follows a series of agreements with Charter Communications, YouTube TV, Google and Apple ahead of the May 27 launch of HBO Max.
The vast majority of existing HBO on Hulu subscribers will get free access to the streaming service, which will retail for $15 a month. New and existing Hulu subscribers will be able to subscribe to HBO Max directly through Hulu for that $15 monthly rate.
The deal also shows that the streaming race has made strange bedfellows. Disney, a direct competitor with WarnerMedia in many businesses, including streaming, took full control of Hulu in 2019. WarnerMedia sold its 10% stake in Hulu to Disney at that point. Over prior years, since early in Huluβs 13-year run, units of WarnerMedia had supplied programming to Hulu and its networks are distributed via Huluβs live bundle.
Hulu with Live TV had 3.4 million subscribers as of February, according to Disney. The company will release updated numbers as part of its quarterly earnings report next week.
WarnerMedia has said it is targeting 75 million to 90 million subscribers globally by 2025. It already has direct access to AT&T platforms, including DirecTV, which will give it a substantial base at launch.
Mecha Builders Xandra! βοΈ
Ayyy did I mention I also have a guilty pleasure for the Mecha Builders series?? :PP I'm sad it doesn't get much attention or love that it deserves. (Plus I think it got cut short :'<. But still good to watch the season that we got though! π) So I thought why not make my own version of what would Xandra look like if she were also in the MECHA BUILDERS! Which I could also list facts if we were a real character- Silly ideas-
Facts: Her main color plattes is a little more brighter from Sesame Street's Xandra. She's a complete human like everyone else in Pretty Big City (No sadly no monster genetics here, but hey Elmo, Cookie, Abby are all robots so-) And also sadly once again, there's no Carl the cockroach in this take. (He still exists in Sesame Street! Just not into the Mecha Builders verse. In this version he'll probably exist as a background character.) And last ofc, it wouldn't be Xandra without her having a innocent crush on (Mecha) Cookie. ππ Anddd that's it! I just hope Mecha Builders has a fandom I could talk to- :'v
They have the Cartoonito block airing in the hospital (dubbed into Mandarin, of course), and this is how I learned there was a show about Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby Cadabby as robotic heroes. Look at this thing.
