cornelius knew his mother deserved better than his father. of course, finding out he had a much younger mistress was enough of an incentive for the woman to do so, but the last thing he wanted was for the man to ruin someone else’s life, reputation...happiness, too. even if she was sleeping with a married man, he wasn’t one to judge...at least, not anyone aside from his father. he acts quickly -- quickly for him, at least when the older woman asks him about who she is. “...oh this? she’s -- she’s my girlfriend, actually. guess...guess she got lost going to the bathroom. s’big house...too big, sometimes, mam...” he chuckles awkwardly, looking over at the girl, eyes widening as though he’s pleading with her to go on with his little facade, too. “would you like me to show you, now?” 

IT’S NOT THE FIRST time jay’s gotten bruised up, but it was the first time he’d gotten into a fight. not usually the aggressive type, he wasn’t expected a simple lie to escalate into trading blows. it’s just.. the person he was fighting for looking so uncomfortable, it was almost unbearable to watch. “ you alright? ” jay looks to the stranger, cradling his aching knuckles. the cut on his lip was easy to take in comparison. “ sorry, uh.. about all of this, dude. didn’t think he’d try and call my bluff. ”

“are we doing this again,” kayleigh questioned as she took him in fully. things had started out complicated. i mean he was ryan’s teacher. she was going to keep it strictly friendly, but then one night it got a little too friendly. kayleigh would have been lying if she said she didn’t want it to happen. except now things had become even more confusing. they were definitely more than friends, but what exactly were they? and every time they tried to talk about what was happening between them, the conversation would quickly dissolve as their lips met. “ryan’s in the other room sleep, so i’m not sure we should be doing...whatever this is going to turn out to be,” she said crossing her arms against her chest.
