I had the pleasure of hearing @garyvee speak this week. Full disclosure - I had to look up his bio before the event 😂😂🤣🤣. I went into this talk in an entrepreneurial state or mind and left the talk fulfilled in so many other ways - particularly with my parenting style. He is my parenting SOUL BROTHER. I agree with him wholeheartedly - parenting today is “keeping up with the Joneses.” Watching all the kids on the team get trophies. What happened to CLEAR winners? Oh right — there are no clear winners anymore. My favorite - coddling. All the coddling — and kids are not learning the value of hard work. Y’all now I am the most attached mama but I walked away from that talk inspired to show my kids a little more real life. I’ve got two snow shovels en route to our apartment. When I informed my offspring that tomorrow, they could help myself, our Super, and our Porter shovel snow and THEN make a snowman, they groaned. Then the oldest said - “well can my shovel at least be pink???” SOLD.
