Meadow Quilt progress: Back in August, I went to a workshop with Lizzy House, where she taught how to make her Meadow Quilt pattern. I cut the pieces a while back, and it’s been up on my design wall ever since. I’ve got other projects I want to get working on, so I decided to get this off my design wall by sewing it up!

The Meadow Quilt blocks are a bit tricky - I would say tricker than any other pattern I’ve done so far. It’s hard to get them to lie flat. I think as I sewed together the blocks, I improved a little every time. 

It’s certainly not perfect, but I’m happy with the overall effect! I am really glad that I decided to stick to my plan for having colour gradients in solids. I think now you can really see the green gradient from dark to light one way, and the pinks going the opposite way. 

Now, I just have to add the dark green (Kona Basil) borders around the outside of the blocks, and the top will be finished!

Meadow Quilt in progress: Back in August, I took a workshop with Lizzy House hosted by the Ottawa Modern Quilt guild to make her Meadow Quilt.

I haven’t worked on it at all over the last little while, but finally got back to it this week. I finished cutting out all the pieces and did all of the inset circles. Now, it’s just piecing it all together! 

I’ve been playing around with the colour layout, but I think I’m finally setting on something. Since the beginning, I wanted to have two colour gradients going on - from dark greens to light greens in the “clovers” and from light pinks to deep pinks in the “flowers” - I hope that once it’s all together, this will be more apparent!
