Looking for a unique volunteer opportunity? Consider helping the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI) as they conduct a point-in-time survey in an effort to provide a "snapshot" of the individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Denver metro area. The data gathered in this annual survey offers valuable information for service providers and other stakeholders. You can learn about the results of the 2013 point-in-time survey through this summary.

Volunteers will interview people in either sheltered or unsheltered locations:

Sheltered Locations - volunteers will survey at locations such as homeless shelters, food banks, human service offices, and other indoor locations where people go to seek shelter or services.

Unsheltered Locations - volunteers will go out in teams with staff and trained peer interviewers to survey people in locations such as parks, riverbeds, parking lots and other places where we may find people who are not accessing shelter or services.

When: Week of January 27-31, 2014 (volunteers sign up for four hour shifts during the day and evenings)

Where: Various locations across the seven-county Denver Metro region (Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson)
