Release of the Day: MCRACKINS - âWhat Came Firstâ - Vancouverâs premier silly pop-punk export has a discography that would give any collector an absolute headache (labor of love, I mean, yea). Forget all of those Revelation Records experts... try obtaining all of the McRackins titles, which number more than 70, across 30 something labels... woof. Iâm still here for all of the egg puns. Itâs been 11 years since their last full-length, maybe the yolk has finally dried out. I think Iâm past the point of making too many distinctions between their various recordings, but 1995âČs âWhat Came Firstâ was my introduction to the group (through a mailorder mix-up, a not all that rare occurrence), this one sat nicely in my nascent punk collection between the mega-melodies of Sicko and the more adventurous songwriting of Doc Hopper, and well, stupider than both. Sometimes ya just gotta embrace the stupid.
