Summary: Using McProHosting as a host. Two days ago there were site errors, and I couldn't log on to restart the server.

I can't access stuff through the computer, so on my phone I attempted to start it and got this.

Get Your Own Minecraft Multiplayer World with MCProHosting

My son got me interested in Minecraft several years ago and it eventually became evident that we needed/wanted our own multiplayer server so we could invite friends and family in to play. After running a server locally, on old equipment, it was decided to spend a little bit of money to make it a bit faster and more reliable,

Yeah. So. I forget to pay the invoices sometimes. Which is because MCProHosting doesn’t offer PayPal or subscriptions anymore which is fucking stupid and I hate them for it.

Instead. What they offer is a billing service I’ve never heard of before which requires me to put my details into it every single fucking time.

I’m very sorry for my vulgarity. But. Like. Come on MCPH. Get your shit together. Supposedly they lost a lot of customers for changing their supported means of payment (eg. getting rid of PayPal), but I haven’t had the effort to go hunting around the plethora of minecraft/web server hosting services because I’m not exactly what you would call healthy.

tldr; MCPH, our server host, is a dick.

So, MCProHosting decided that they're no longer going to be accepting PayPal as a payment method. It's worth mentioning that they didn't tell anyone about this.

What this means is we might be moving away from MCProHosting and to a different host, what that means for you is the server IP might change.

We haven't decided anything yet and the situation is still developing so nothing's set in stone. We'll keep you updated as things develop.

We believe McProHosting may be having some issues. The server has been restarting periodically, without us telling it to. This isn't supposed to happen. And, because the server isn't prepared to shut down and start up again, it doesn't always remember to save. (Seconds before a scheduled restart, the server saves everything.)

We've made it so that the server now does a save every 15 minutes. While this may cause a little lag, it's much preferable to losing a few hours of hard work. However, if the server does randomly restart between saves, you may lose up to 15 minutes worth of work.

There is nothing we can do till we hear back from McProHosting. So till we know what's happening, and why, you have been warned, and we sincerely apologise for this.
