❅ Imagine a Grimm!McKirk au with Jim as Nick and Bones as Monroe. Bones helps him despite his every bone telling him that Jim can't be trusted and that he should run away before he's killed and Jim sees the real Bones and trusts him implicitly once he learns that Bones is a doctor. despite the occasional glimpses of his wesen side which Jim is actually starting to find kind of cute. They slowly fall in love and do the world a lot of good in the process.

❅Bones has never made a discovery in his personal life that has paid as many dividends as the day he first ran his hands through Jim's hair. The kid's eyes had honest-to-god fluttered and he'd slumped, near-purring, into the doctor's arms. Now? Jim gets frustrating in private, Bones starts stroking his hair. The kid shuts up, and clearly enjoys himself. Win/win. Though Bones sometimes does wonder if Jim gets irritating deliberately...

Layout

❅So many missions together over the years, one or both of them in deadly danger. Honestly, Jim had never believed they'd live as long as they had. And yet here they were on Bones's 90th birthday, in rockers on the front porch in Georgia. "I think I love you more today than I did at 30, kid." Jim laughed in response. "Hardly a kid anymore, Bones," he corrected, but reached out to tangle their fingers together.

❅ Bones likes to be the little spoon. He likes it when Jim is curled against his back and hugging him tightly and finds it easiest to fall asleep when he can feel Jim's own heart beat against his back. He's the most relaxed when Jim cuddles him like this because he knows that they're both safe and alive. It's even better when Jim throws a leg across his hip to keep him in place. He's never felt more wanted than when he's being held in Jim's arms.

❅Imagine an X-Files mckirk au in which Leonard McCoy is assigned to be Jim Kirk's partner and hopefully bring his cases, the explanations, and reports back down to earth. Jim is a firm believer in extraterrestrial life and the supernatural and Leonard McCoy is a coroner who wouldn't believe in unicorns if he saw one in broad daylight. It takes them a while to gel as partners but they eventually they find some things they have in common and Jim stops being suspicious of Bones and his every move.

❅ “Ugh….” Jim whined for the third time in an hour. “Goddamn it, man, WHAT?” Bones finally growled as he looked up, only to see Jim making a pathetic face. “It hurts, Bones!” “What hurts?” If there was a note of suspicion in his voice, it was because Jim had earned it. Going into doctor-mode only to get a pickup line was a learning experience. “My butt. Will you rub it for me?” Jim asked, eyes filled with devilment. Bones raised an eyebrow, then walked right up and took the invitation offered.
