Possible Potter Plot-Hole
Okay but how in Merlin's saggy underpants did the Wizarding World figure out that baby Harry had defeated Voldemort? What makes them figure out that this tiny kid survived the killing curse and has a lightning bolt shaped scar to prove it?
The only people who actually see Harry are Sirius (who ends up in Azkaban), Hagrid, Dumbledore and McGonagal (who knows that the curse hit Harry but checks with Dumbledore that the lightning bolt is actually where it hit him) and I don't think any of them would have gone around talking about it.
Plus, they seem to know the truth before Harry is even delivered to the Dursleys so????
For all the Wizarding World knows, James and Lily, both of whom were qualified and skilled wizards could have defeated Voldemort and died in the process, or, maybe a hex just rebounded off something and hit Voldemort!
Anyone have an answer to this??
