tina is actually very detached from kids. they’re cute from a distance, but let’s move on now. if a friend of hers has a baby, she’ll exclaim over it for maybe five minutes, but after that she’s over it. you wouldn’t catch her dead babysitting for anyone. she is very frank with children ; if one asked her for help with tying their shoes, she’d do it, but not before saying something like “what do you mean you can’t tie your shoes yet?”
but if they’re her own kids, she’s a completely different person. for someone who is bad at showing affection with anyone else, it would come naturally to her with her children. i believe that tina’s parents may not have played an active role in her & her sister’s lives, so she would strive to do the opposite for her own children.
