I'm in love with this pic do much, it's scary. Regrann from @readcommendations - Every once and a while I just have to post about the amazing NO ORDINARY STAR series. I just love it so much! We might be heading into summer, but everyone needs a good dose of Christmas even in the warmest months. This trilogy by @mcfrank_author, is some of the best Scifi I have ever read, and I'm still shaken by the ending! Have you read it? What did you think? βοΈππ . . . #bookworm #bookstagram #booksofinstagram #instabooks #booknerdigans #novainloss #noordinarystar #noplainrebel #mcfrank #coverbuy #prettycover #bookphotography #bookaddict #bookphotos #bibliophile #trilogy #bookspines #bookset #space #scifi #sciencefiction #YA #IreadYA

Book Review of No Vain Loss (NOS#3) by M. C. Frank
This book took me to Mercury and back, and I loved every second of it! I picked up No Vain Loss late one night and got through fifty pages before I couldnβt keep my eyes open anymore. So, eager to return to the icy tundra, I picked it up the next day and didnβt put it down until I had turned the very last page! Binge reading is definitely a thing wherever M.C. Frankβs books are concerned, holy macaroni this woman is amazing!
No Vain Loss features an epic battle that has been mounting since the first page of book one. It kept me on the edge of my seat with sweaty hands and wide eyes until I read the very last word! The plot is engaging and fast-paced, and is perfect for every fan of the No Ordinary Star trilogy who is ready for the finale.
As I was reading No Vain Loss, I was continually reminded of the people close to me, the people I hold dear, the people I love. Our two main characters, Felix and Astra, have a relationship that brings my own relationships to my mind, and I love them for it.
Not only do these characters remind me of the people I love, they are also incredibly well-written. These wonderful and endearing characters have strengths and weaknesses, pitfalls and victories, hard times and good times.
No Vain Loss ended in such a way that simultaneously pleased my aching heart and left room that could be expounded upon in the future!
And the title! OH the title! Itβs a beautiful title, and it was tied in so spectacularly well.
I was very satisfied with No Vain Loss (and honestly the same goes for the whole No Ordinary Star trilogy), and I believe that you will be too! Happy reading!

No Ordinary Star By MC Frank

He is the tin soldier; she, the match girl. Together, they discover the sparks that change the world. In themselves. In each other.
As they both discover the world isnβt what they thought it is. For one, its lies and chains and a light in the dark. For the other, its discovery and learning and a savor on the ice.
Wowβ¦ This book blew me away. I found it deeply unique and creative, but I could still feel the hands of the authors who inspired this (From Lowry and The Giver to Bradbury and The Illustrated Man and Pullmanβs His Dark Materials). I loved how the author used our world, but drastically modified it, creating new inventions, and getting rid of animals and food, but also disease. Her creation really makes you think about the morality of things and makes you question your ideas.
I liked the characters. I liked watching them grow and learn in different ways. Especially Felix. He learned and grew so much in his short time on Alaska. Not only about himself, but about his roles in the world and about the society in which he lives.
The plot was rather slow, but I donβt necessarily see that as a bad thing. This is more of a character based story where you see lots of growth with the people. This is also a set up story for the next books. So Iβm sure weβll see a lot more later on. I know I for sure canβt wait for the next books. I absolutely loved this story.
*Thanks so much to the author for letting me read this for a review!!ππ*
