FUn facts about the little killers!
I opposed the idea that shadow knights run super hot bc the nether is ALREADY hot. I say they run cold bc 1) running cold in a hot climate makes so much more sense and 2) they're undead. NO HEARTBEAT. NO BLOOD CIRCULATION. NOTHING CAN BE WARM! So they're constantly cold bc no circulation.
This means, however, that the nether is the perfect temperature for them to keep warm (so it's a reason they would want to stay ahaha), and they're freezing cold outside of the nether. They can get warm in the overworld by bundling up, hanging in the sun, being active, and touching warm stuff like fire or people or, you know, fresh blood!
Another fun fact is that I accidentally coded them to be so darn CUTEE. Not visually cute but I mean like they behave in a way that makes me wanna tuck them into bed and kiss them on the forehead: imagine lions or wolves play fighting, and that's the SHadow Knights. It's all good fun for them, they'll come in from behind and attack, taking each other to the ground and tasseling around.
SHadow knights typically have a pretty close bond between each other, a sense of camaraderie or kinship bc theyre the only ones who can like actually understand each other and what they're going through. It's pretty rare for shadow knights to turn against others, but it does happen occasionally.
Also they're born from anger! If they died as a human (or yknow humanoid) and super pissed off, they come back as a Shadow Knight thirsty for vengeance.
Adding to the anger thing, they're not only born from their own anger, but they're literally MADE OF ANGER. It wasn't intentional for them to turn out as aggressive as they are, it's just how they turned out to be because that's what their CREATOR is.
There's none of that "lord killing" stuff for immortality, you become immortal when you become a shadow knight. The only way to kill them is by breaking their heart (literally (but it acts as a metaphor.)) which is where their soul is protected. They die instantly.
For their shadow knight form, they get super massive and their fingers basically turn into obsidian, super sharp and more claws/talons than actual fingers. In their shadow knight form they also get magical armor and a giant sword. Another fancy quirk is that they have black scleras and red irises. Nothing really practical about that choice it just looks so cool.
