"Minecraft Diaries: Divination"

The only canon divergent fix-it fic YOU need; the perfect story for all who wished just one thing was changed about Minecraft Diaries-- because I'm fixing it all!

This chapter taught me a critical skill, such as how to do a "details" section in notes to hide trigger warnings! Because, of course, Vylad Ro'Meave chapters come with an abundance of those. Every time.

Hi Aphblr it's me again and like yes I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole time (i've really missed this content, haha) and grahhh I really do enjoy the dynamic between Aaron and Aphmau in this one, it's very innocent/pure and I enjoy the gentle pining from Aaron who definitely does crush on Aphmau but doesn't want to make things weird/ruin the friendship he already has with her.

And the scary butler guy!! Aaa I was freaked out by everything about him, his tone, his design, his movements-- so scary in like the most fun way! Very much enjoyed the emotional rollercoaster of "do I trust this guy? No? Yeah? No. Yeah. NO!"

The best way I can describe how I felt about this episode was that I felt like I walked into a horror themed dnd campaign. Stumbling upon a strange area and there's somebody creepy just waiting there ready to greet you? My inner dnd player was SCREAMING at the suspicious vibes. ANYWAYS, I see a lot of people here saying that Aaron is brainwashed, and I just wanna say that, like, okay. While it IS an accurate depiction, I kind of want to say more, like, "puppeteering." For one, I think it's funny to imagine that there's definitely no bone in (this) Aaron's body that would know how to ball dance, and thus he would have to be controlled like a puppet rather than brainwashed to know how to ball dance, and also his tone was way off which I suppose is something we see as a trait from forever potions but this is definitely not a forever potion, and also like. MASTER. PUPPET MASTER. Right??? Right??? I also see people thinking that it could straight up just Not be Aaron which also works but I think I really wanna see Aaron regaining control and go "what the HELL am I wearing????" because that's obviously what's going to happen, I promise

At the end of the day I'm putting all my money on the Master in question being either Malachi or Gene. Malachi because it would be a legendary callback to MCD and spooky castle aesthetic was like his whole thing, and for Gene it's because mind control was like his whole thing, although that would contradict my desire for it to be more puppeteering rather than brainwashing.

And it was refreshing to not have Aaron be the love interest.

Not insane like "Wow it'd be so crazy if he was in it" but it would be insane because like. WHAT would he be? Zane is an angry crab and Garroth is a pirate. I guess the solution would be to go inbetween and make him a merman, right? Then the Ro'meave bros would have the full range; crab > merman > human, right? Vylad is a character who would work so well as a mermaid too, particularly because if I know him like the back of my hand, which i do, I know that he's just notttt a normal guy in any context and definitely fumbles normal-people conversations

The animation? Amazing

The dialogue? Phenomenal

The new characters? SO FUN

My curiosity?? PIQUED!!

Genuinely such a fun video to watch. I was brought right back into the world of Mermaid Tales in an instant, with its dialogue that treads a deliberate line between cunning and goofy, and Aaron and Aphmau's dynamic being as adorable as ever. The introduction of a relic to Mermaid Tales was not something I expected, and though I did have an inkling Mermaid Tales was canon to Minecraft Diaries / Mystreet universe already since Void Paradox made, in my mind, every side series a canon multiverse, actually involving such a crucial piece of the main lore into this series has me already so excited for the next episode! ALSO MY INNER DEMONS BOYS FINALLY MAKING AN APPEARANCE IN A MINI SERIES AND THEY'RE ACTING LIKE THEIR TRUE SELVES OHHHH IT'S ENOUGH TO MAKE A GROWN MAN CRY OHHHHHH HOW GOOD IT FELT TO SEE MY SILLY GOOFY BOYS BEING SILLY AND GOOFY AS THEMSELVES TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARSSS!
