A Visit Unexpected
The knock on the door came just as I predicted. I grab my pack of cigarettes from the side table, pulling one free and steadying it between my slender fingers. Another knock and press on the doorbell. You are getting impatient on the other side of that door, shifting on your feet, your fist balling firmly on your hip. I am aware that patience is not a strong trait you possess but I like to toy with you, makes my day less boring. Another buzz, lengthy this time, more firm of a press on the buzzer. I light my cigarette inhaling deeply counting to ten- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 then abruptly open the door.
