re: Lúcio not being a helpless damsel. Hell yes, he can take care of himself and kick his fair share of ass. Someone threatens a defenseless teammate (like a MEKAless Hana) Lúcio swoops in and helps them because his gun is not his only weapon. Should some gang member hoping to get the big bucks actually manage to subdue Lúcio and put him in a van? Lúcio saves his own damn ass. He's seen some shit and a clueless, hapless person would never have survived stealing from Vishkar.
YAAASSSS Like I see him being really capable and I think that he would be able to even beat a lot of the other overwatch characters in hand to hand during training sessions. Not like Zarya or Reinhardt of course but like Junkrat, McCree, Symmetra, maybe even Hanzo or Genji (I don’t know how great their martial arts are. I know when it comes to weapons they both have Lucio beat hands down but I know Capoeria techniques hold up well against other froms of martial arts)
Also I love the idea of everyone being clueless to just how strong Lucio is. Like with the exception of really bulky people like Roadhog, Zarya, Reinhardt and Bastion I feel like Lucio would be able to pick anyone up whether it be throwing them over his shoulder or bridal style.
A fun way I like to imagine everyone finding out is probably McCree, Soldier 76, Genji and maybe a few other people talking about training techniques.
And Lucio overhears and he gets excited and asks if he can train with them sometime.
And they all kind of exchange glances and finally McCree just laughs and he says “I don’t think so little man, wouldn’t want to accidently hurt you (or hurt that pretty face of yours for the McLucio shippers)” and Lucio is just dumbfounded and says “Hey I’m stronger than I look!”
And McCree laughs because there is no way and he says “I bet you couldn’t even pick me up.”
And some are laughing like Genji chuckles a bit and shit.
But instead of getting embarrassed Lucio just asks “How much?”
“What?” “How much are you going to bet?”“I don’t know like 50 bucks?”
And McCree’s life flashes before his eyes because Lucio just fucking throws him over his shoulder or picks him up bridal style and McCree will never admit it but he literally screams for half a second and everyone is just looking like “HOLY SHIT HE WAS NOT JOKING”
And when Lucio puts him down McCree just stares at him open mouthed and just, takes out a 50 and gives it to him because that was lowkey terrifying and also kinda hot
And Lucio just grins and skates away.
I don’t know why this lowkey became McLucio but hey, I ship like everything.
Anyway yeah sorry I am just super passionate about Lucio.
