 About Scott

Actor, screenwriter and audiobook narrator, Scott Brick definitely gives new meaning to a hyphenate career with credits in film, television, stage and radio. Born on January 30, 1966 in Santa Barbara, California, Brick studied both acting and writing at UCLA, and joined the ranks of working professionals upon leaving school in 1989. He then spent ten years with the LA-based Will and Company, a traveling Shakespearean company which performed for schools throughout California, in addition to acting in such roles as Cyrano, Hamlet and Macbeth at various playhouses around the country. Brick went on to become a freelance writer and published articles in magazines such as WIZARD, CREATIVE SCREENWRITING and TOYFARE. In 2000, he was hired by Morgan Freeman and Revelations Entertainment to adapt Arthur C. Clarke's classic science-fiction RENDEZVOUS WITH RAMA for the big screen. Also in 2000, Brick ventured into narrating audiobooks and quickly found himself embraced by the audio world. Hey Peeps! Wow!  Our February Meetup was a huge success, and our largest gathering to date! Woo Hoo!  It was so great to see lots of familiar faces, as well as meeting a substantial amount of new members!  Our special guests Penny Abshire and James Alburger rocked the evening with a super informative and entertaining presentation covering everything from VOICE 2012 to voice acting and core voiceover techniques.  A tremendous Thank You to them for so generously sharing their knowledge and expertise with the group.  It was simply invaluable!  You know, I thought I was excited to go to VOICE 2012 before, but after hearing some of the things that James and Penny have in store for us at this year's conference, I am just bursting at the seams with excitement! :) VO Peeps - don't forget to use your exclusive code that you received at the meetup and register now for what is sure to be a Voiceover life changing event!

The meetup also marked the official launch of our joint effort with the LA/OC chapter of the MCAI for a new Career Education Scholarship Fund established to fun both need-based and merit-based scholarships to qualified members of the voiceover community.  We are so excited to be supporting such a worthwhile cause and encourage you to check out our information page and donate of you can!  You can really make a difference in someone's life!

In loving memory of our dear friend and colleague  Carol Joy Protain Knizek, who lost her battle with cancer, VO Peeps and Gerald Griffith are offering THREE (3) VO Atlanta Scholarships, including the Carol Joy Memorial Scholarship,  to help keep Carol's memory and dream alive at VO Atlanta in 2017.  Thank you to Gerald Griffith of VO Atlanta for his generous scholarship donation and for helping to make a difference.  Please take a moment to watch the video above to hear Carol speak at last year's VO Atlanta conference. A Personal Note from Anne Ganguzza, Founder of VO Peeps Scholarship

On a personal level, I will always hold Carol very near to my heart.  Carol had a beautiful and generous soul, and her joy was infectious.  Our connection was immediate, and remained steadfast long after the conference.  We both shared our battles with cancer, and she called me frequently to ask me how I was feeling (it was never about her) - always providing me with love and positive encouragement along the way.  She truly was an "Anne-gel" to me.  Carol, you have made me want to be better person, to give more, to be more joyful, and to be more grateful everyday. I am so fortunate to have known you and to call you friend. Love and Light my friend - You have touched my soul.

  How You Can Help

In loving memory of our dear friend and colleague  Carol Joy Protain Knizek, who lost her battle with cancer, VO Peeps and Gerald Griffith are offering THREE (3) VO Atlanta Scholarships, including the Carol Joy Memorial Scholarship,  to help keep Carol's memory and dream alive at VO Atlanta in 2017.  Thank you to Gerald Griffith of VO Atlanta for his generous scholarship donation and for helping to make a difference.  Please take a moment to watch the video above to hear Carol speak at last year's VO Atlanta conference. After winning the 2015 VO Peeps VO Atlanta Scholarship, Carol wrote to me and said: [quote align="center" color="#999999"] I am so Thankful that I was one of the people who was selected for this years, VO Atlanta Scholarship!! I have never been to a conference before and still kind of new to VO. I am so Grateful that there are such kind and giving people like VO Peeps!!  I am honored that I was chosen and will use what I learn well and share with others. A Personal Note from Anne Ganguzza, Founder of VO Peeps Scholarship

On a personal level, I will always hold Carol very near to my heart.  Carol had a beautiful and generous soul, and her joy was infectious.  Our connection was immediate, and remained steadfast long after the conference.  We both shared our battles with cancer, and she called me frequently to ask me how I was feeling (it was never about her) - always providing me with love and positive encouragement along the way.  She truly was an "Anne-gel" to me.  Carol, you have made me want to be better person, to give more, to be more joyful, and to be more grateful everyday. I am so fortunate to have known you and to call you friend. Love and Light my friend - You have touched my soul.
