Yesterday's spontaneous outing was to Fall Creek Waterfalls, recently added to the State property of #mayoriverstatepark Definitely a hidden treasure in NC, about 5 miles south of the VA/NC border, the waterfall is awesome and only a 1/4 Mile hike after you park.
