After one last glance at the mirror, he grabs his keys and heads to their hotel room. He only knocks once before the door opens, a grinning Roger behind it.

Adam always noticed that look directed at him onstage, that adoring smile. Only now did he see that there was another kind of adoration, too. Something he never thought he’d deserve. He pauses, wondering if he should have asked first since the man was clearly surprised, but Roger simply pulls him closer by his waist.

But this affection only seemed to grow tenfold when the three of them were alone together. A soft click directs his attention to the bathroom door, and Brian’s warm smile greets him.

“Hello, I see Roger has welcomed you in.” He chuckles as Roger’s embrace only tightens.

Adam sighs happily. “A really warm welcome. You look dashing.”

Like him, Brian has also gone for a little formality with a suit jacket of his own, only their colors have switched. The top buttons of his white shirt have been popped open, exposing enough of his chest that Adam quickly averted his gaze. He didn’t want his brain to malfunction a second time that night.

Brian smiles and leans in to capture his lips in a soft kiss, taking his breath away. Roger reluctantly pulls away after another minute, muttering about their reservation and the driver waiting outside the hotel. And, they talk. Adam makes them laugh by recalling the time he nearly slid across the stage during a musical, and Roger cackles describing the look in Freddie’s face when he folded the singer’s bed into the wall with him fast asleep. They found no change from the dinners they shared before Brian’s birthday, aside from the handholding and the little winks.

The journey back to their hotel room was quiet. But the continuation of their celebration inside? Not so.
