The click of the pin on pavement is audible between them. The way Francis freezes, abruptly looks down at the explosive in Jamison’s hand, might have been comical to anyone out of range. But Francis’ face loses all colour, and he appears more reasonable – more sane – than the man cackling beneath him.
A whole lot about Junkrat clicks into place in that very moment; a moment too late, as Francis grits his teeth, expression lined with panic as one hand jerks upwards to grip the younger man’s neck, squeezing threateningly.
“Don’t.” That single word out of Francis is a rare plea.
