Headcanon A:  realistic Okay, this one is an actual like, headcanon, and not something I’ve settled on for his character (we argue about it–or, as much as you can argue with a character like Nikolai) but, I think (on top of the other tattoos he has) that he has one of those, like, they’re not arm bands per se, but they take up a band of skin, as opposed to a full sleeve? I think he’s got on that’s like, maybe four or five inches tall (wide? It kinda depends on how you orient your arm) on his forearm. Idk what of (yet?) And idk which arm, but I think he has one.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious Okay, Hannah and I talked about this kinda early on, but just – Nikolai with a lower back tattoo. Like, a large, can see it when his shirt rides up, probably doesn’t at first look like it matches him, lower back tattoo. And being totally serious and unapologetic about it. (I proposed that if he did have one, it could have been because he lost a bet, and I think that makes is so much better.)

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends Nikolai has spent most of his life waiting for the other shoe to drop. (And, unfortunately, was regularly right to have been suspicious and concerned.) If he (without an outside influence) managed to get over the notion that he’s not good enough for Danny, he would probably still be wary of putting himself out there because he’d be waiting for Danny to finally decide he wants to move on and away from life with Nikolai, or realizes Nikolai’s actually really twisted, or any number of ‘other shoes’ he’s concocted in his mind.

here’s everything so far on theatre majors and the theatre itself! I suspect that the ghosts, either real or born entirely of legend, would have a definite presence at least within the theatre through the sheer force of belief the drama students are able to conjure up. The Gentry would probably leave the ghosts alone as a (mostly) human thing that doesn’t affect them all that much.

Rehearsals - usually when the court is in the theatre you try to find something else to do that day, but there are times where you’ve just got to grit your teeth and get things going anyway, and you’ll be okay so long as you follow every single bit of theatre superstition. The theatre, in its mindless way, can protect its own, but there are the rules, always, and the consequences of breaking them will leave you vulnerable.
