I have headcanons-turned-canon regarding this!! 

Detective Pikachu revealed that pokemon are empaths, just as an inherent trait. And the pokemon world doesn’t really work without it! If pokemon were literally just like regular-animals-except-with-superpowers, it would be chaos all the time - if humanity hadn’t already been destroyed long ago. 

Those ‘horns’ are his ears but they’re made of fairly rigid cartilage, they don’t move around like a cat’s. 

That chest plate thing he’s got going on is cartilage as well. It’s possible/likely these are both traits he inherited from the alakazam DNA that was thrown into the mix when he was engineered. 

Teeth are more like a human’s than a cat’s. He’s got more pointed canines than humans, but prominent incisors and grinding/crushing molars like humans. 

Mewtwo: ‘Thank you. I took inspiration from several of my favourite sculptors. They actually cast a different DNA pattern depending on the angle of the light. It took me almost a fortnight to make something I was happy with, but I think it’s some of my best work yet.’ 

Mira: “So... how’s a human supposed to grab them?” 

Mewtwo would stress out trying to design something BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT and HEARTFELT, while Mira’s standards are ‘keeps us relatively warm and dry’ and maybe ‘not held together primarily with caulk.’ She’s not very helpful at first until she realises just how easy it is for him to build things, and then she starts getting into it. But she’s still got a running commentary of “I don’t have psychic powers, you know” and “That’s awesome but wildly impractical” whenever he forgets he’s supposed to be designing a domestic dwelling. 

“I agree a fountain in the living room would be cool, but we won’t be able to hear the TV over it and I am not going to clean a fountain every week, I’m just not.”

It’s not just electricity! Pokemon affected human access to land, and other resources such as metal, food, clean water, shelter. 

In the present day there’s no doubt that almost everything is run on electric power generated by electric pokemon, and the infrastructure of the pokemon world would be tailored to that. People would still use fires while camping, or as a festive bonfire, or in industrial settings perhaps. But large-capacity batteries that could be powered by electric pokemon would be commonplace. Electricity would be dirt-cheap in the pokemon world, far more easily accessible and sustainable than burning stuff. Fossil fuel is probably relegated almost exclusively to the industrial/scientific fields, if it’s used at all.
