why does elaine get so much clout for her simple photos and not the people who actually put this show together. the people who write it, who take actual photos, the people who control sound and video, the people who edit it. we’re giving thousands of followers to a girl who occasionally takes photos and is dating one of the actors, not the people who are actually putting this show together. they have insta accounts too, she’s not special
babe let me ask you a counter question. i will assume you are genuinely confused and i’ll help
did you know that instagram has over a billion active users? do you believe that a person’s follower count is tied to their worth as a human being or their contribution to society or something?
we’re giving thousands, if not millions, of follows to random ass people based on nothing but our own interest. some girl on tik tok making slime videos? millions of followers. some dude making cringy dance videos? millions of followers. some lady who posts baking recipes? millions of followers. ronaldo’s girlfriend has an entire netflix series dedicated to her being his girlfriend. and that’s OKAY. that’s how social media works. it’s based on interest. doctors and electricians and lawyers have instagram accounts too, and while their professions are important, their life might not be as interesting to strangers.
why is it SO hard for people to grasp that elaine has a following? elaine is a beautiful, creative, young female photographer who also has plenty of famous friends and is dating a well known actor and works on a big show the whole world is excited for. everyone follows her for a reason. mariah has just as many followers and isn’t even part of the crew at all. some random ig models have more followers than her.
if you want to follow elaine, follow her. if you want to follow the OBX sound engineer or dp or production designer or publicist, follow them too. it’s not a competition. in fact, some of them, like the wardrobe department, do have around 30k followers. i follow many other crew members. thing is tho, instead of cool pictures of the cast, you’ll be looking at the life of a random middle aged person showing off trucks and camera equipment and posting once a year. your pick. if you don’t like elaine’s content, don’t follow her, if you do, do, it’s so mind blowingly simple.
