May Day today makes me miss May Breakfast and May Baskets at the Congregational Church. This blog post traces Rhode Island May Breakfast to declaring independence from the British Crown? Funny, I don't ever remember hearing that, and usually RI injects revolutionary war history into every possible event. To me, it's a fun celebration of springtime and community and good food. The May Baskets are beautifully crafted from coloured paper and full of goodies.
