#maximal crazy

The superstar DJs have their own modus operandi in comparison to, say, the pop musicians. They have to maintain their ecosystems by playing along their rules. Sure, if their tunes reach the mainstream, that's fine, though they won't split their hairs over this. I mean, Tiesto probably doesn't care about the success of his songs on the music charts, but we do have to admit he did have a couple of huge singles. Nonetheless, the dance floors are the place to be for him. Whenever he releases something, you know the piece is meant for his DJ set. While you can listen to this in the privacy of your home, you do notice this is not IDM. For instance, I'm pretty sure the composition on the link works like crazy in a full club thanks to all the trick Tiesto deploys.

A month ago I posted about one of the premiere Tiesto tracks in recent memory: Maximal Crazy. I decided to check out remixes for it today. This is a playlist of some of my faves. Hope you enjoy it. 

Did I ever mention I'm a HUGE Tiesto fan? No? Darn, this must be my first post with one of his remixes. Well, with that said, he is by far one of electronica's premiere living legends. I remember listening to his mixes late at night and hoping that the sun wouldn't rise. There was something about his work that just wasn't like anyone else's. Like a strange feeling of joy would be seeded into every track. Still, it has been many years since that time. Not only has he continued to pump out hit after hit, he has also taken risks with various styles. Sometimes even transforming them into what I'll call "Tiesto-step". (Please excuse my terrible use of an overly documented misconception) Take Maximal Crazy for instance. A heavily bass powered house anthem that has flecks of happy-hardcore. Which breaks down to panning d'n'b section and builds up with a march dubstep rhythm that returns to the chorus with a textbook drop and lift. So many genres and styles bending together seamlessly. Which shows that this (at the time) 43-year-old has the chops and abilities that are undeniably evident. Oh and it is a banger for sure, having you and everyone else around wanting to go crazy to the max.
