This is an AU where Veth and Pike are roommates and Veth is going on her first date with Yeza:

“So is he nice?” PIke asked as she pulled the first bun into a ribbon.

“I think so?” Veth answered, “He was so nervous! He kept stumbling over his words. He said I was the most beautiful halfling girl he had ever seen. That he loved my button necklace... It’s weird I don't feel like I’ve ever been anything special.”

“Well clearly this Yeza can see you more clearly than you can. You are incredible. Now hold still I have to get these bobby pins in.” Pike loved her roommate but she tend to squirm when she was having her hair done.

“Maybe. Anyway I’ve never worn a dress like this. Do you think people can tell? Does it look unnatural?”
