“I would like to dedicate this song to the beautiful Cajun piano player who taught me how to play it. Or at least... most of it.” Yahnaa started pinging the keys to Alicia Keys’ Empire State of Mind but on half speed, unable to sing and play the piano at the same time. She forgot how the bridge went, so instead she went: verse, chorus, something that sounded like the chorus, verse, chorus, outro she had completely made up. She stood, elegantly, made a bow towards the audience, and skipped off of the stage, looking through the crowd for the dark-haired piano teacher.
“What did you think? Did I do it well? I know I missed the bridge, but everyone loved it. I think.”
