Finding Carter is a new MTV show near the end of its first season and has been renewed for a second one. (woohoo) It focuses on the life of Carter Stevens a 16 year old that has her live turned upside-down as she is told her mother is in fact a women who kidnapped her when she was three and has been raising her as her own. She is then put back to live with her real family who are completely foreign to her and she has to adjust to life without her ‘mother’.
The beginning of Finding Carter shows Carter’s life before she finds out she had been kidnapped; her relationship with her mother resembles the close relationship between Lorelai and Rory from the Gilmore girls. (This is a show that I hold dearly in my heart and I suggest you should watch if you haven’t already)
Finding Carter is a fresh and original new show with a remarkable plot that is gripping and funny. The cast and characters they play are diverse and have interesting back stories. MTV takes full advantage of your love for these characters and can have you in tears or smiling like an idiot in seconds.
You may recognise the main character Carter Stevens played by Kathryn Prescott, as she played Emily Fitch in Skins UK’s second generation (seasons 3 and 4). (This is also a TV show that I strongly suggest you watch!)
Carter has an adorable relationship with her siblings; Taylor her on-screen twin sister and Max her younger brother. Interesting fact; Kathryn Prescott is actually a twin herself and her twin Megan Prescott is an actress as well. They both stared in Skins UK as on–screen twins (but are real-life twins too) so Taylor Wilson played by Anna Jacoby-Heron isn’t her first on-screen twin sister.
