Shot this tonight on the campus of Notre Dame University. I was curious about the haze in the sky, and our local meteorologist, Matt Rudkin, said this – "Did you see the “haze” below the clouds as the sun set tonight? It’s not haze. In fact, it’s SNOW! The low sun angle made it visible. The freezing level is about 15,000ft, and the cloud bases are around ~18,000ft tonight. Obviously, the snow is melting/evaporating before it reaches the ground.
