Totally off topic, but I just discovered that Fabien and Milly were once in a relationship?! Does anyone have any details? Honestly, I heard rumors about it at the time, but I didn't really follow them. Milly generally had good chemistry with both Matt and Fabien. I even suspected back then that there might have been something between her and Matt. And I even read that Fabien had something going on with Olivia, but I think it was more of a friendship.
I honestly do not know, anon. I only see whatever the cast says during promotion or what people send me here. I do not follow their private lives, relationships, or rumors closely enough to comment.
This level of speculation about who may have slept with whom seems excessive to me.
The cracking of fire embers filled the massive library hall with the smell of burning candle wax that reached my nostrils. I had taken my place at a wooden table in the corner by one of the fireplaces enjoying the comfort the warmth brought me. The Valyrian book sat directly in front of me on the table, elbows on the table with my chin resting in the palms of my hands.
I’d slowly been discovering the many pages of this ancient book of House Targaryen. The very first few pages contain basic pronunciation that includes vowels, consonants and stress marks. The next section contains simple identifying phrases like I am a woman, how to say your name or more precisely in my case I am learning. Section three includes a list of words that I’d circled with a quill that I could connect with my family such as father, mother, boy, girl, brother or sister.
Scanning my eyes over the next page I studied the sentence sounding out the words. “Nyke Lacey Targaryen se nyke eprago - wait,, no. Epa - eproge -“
“Epagon.”
Whipping my head around in a slight panic I frantically glanced around the room wishing to find who’s voice that was. I swore that I was utterly alone in this hall, away from the controlling eyes of my father. The library was dimly lit by the light provided by the burning fire making it difficult for me to see anyone specifically.
“Se Nyke Epagon.”
Bringing my left leg up I dug inside my boot, grabbing the hidden dagger feeling a scared pit building in my stomach. “Show yourself, you coward!” Tightly clutching the dagger handle in my right hand I raised my voice hoping to sound as confident as possible.
“One of these days I might find your precious dagger embedded in my flesh if not careful. Although I doubt your aim is as good as my own.”
Footsteps came around one of the bookshelves where I blinked a few times making out none other Daemon strolling out into the open wearing a dark gray tunic and trousers underneath the signature black cloak from the night we first met. In his hand was Dark Sister secured in her sword holder as he made his way over to where I was sitting.
“Daemon ... .what are you doing up this late?”
“Nyke Daemon Targaryen se nyke epagon.” Daemon smirks, nodding his head at me as a way of saying, what’s say you.
Keeping the dagger held upright behind my right shoulder I narrowed my eyes at the dragon prince struggling as to what he wished to get from me. “Epagon……Nyke Lacey Lannister se nyke…..epagon. ( I am Lacey Lannister and I am learning ).” Daemon made careful steps around one of the chairs, laying the sword on the table before sitting in the chair closest to me, never taking his eyes off of me nor the blade.
“I’m not going to harm you, girl.”
“Woman.” I corrected sharply.
“I’m not going to harm you, woman. Is that significant enough for you to lower the blade?”
Glaring at him I reluctantly lowered the hand holding the blade, laying it on the table with my fingers still wrapped around the handle. “You’re the one lurking in the dark with a sword. This dagger is my only source of defense and for all I knew you could have been an assassin set to kill me.”
“Trust issues I see. Is that because of your father?”
“He certainly doesn’t treat me rightly.”
“How so?”
Tapping my fingers against the cold blade facing the ceiling I changed my tone. An uneven nervous feeling dropped in my stomach and goosebumps grew up my arms. Thinking about my father made something in my brain flip a switch. “The hour has grown late, my prince. I’d wish to retire if that’s alright with you.” Pushing my chair backwards making a creaking sound against the stone I gathered my things quickly. Dangling the Valyrian book in one arm I slid the dagger back into hiding rounding the table until Daemon grasped my arm seeing the book about to hit the floor.
“Lacey, you don’t have to rush off - is this how you started learning High Valyrian?”
“Daemon, let me go please.”
“Ao istan ñuha kepa ( You act like my father ).” He lifted his gaze to meet mine. “Tell me why, my lady. I won’t judge you.”
Thickly swallowing a lump in my throat I replied. “My father, he never…”
“You may speak freely with me.”
Shutting my eyes softly I couldn't dare look him in the eye while I decided what exactly to say to him. Daemon wasn't like my siblings who I could rant to about our parents too. No, he’s a prince who would probably think of my concerns as rubbish and dismiss me without a thought. Tightening my grip on the leather book in my hands I struggle to breathe, getting the words out in a broken sound.
“My father Jason has…..he’s always viewed me as expendable. As someone he needs to pawn off to someone else because of how much of a difficult child I was when I lived under his roof. But before you think low of me my prince consider where I have come from. Two older sisters who are so infuriatingly perfect I wished to gagg every time, a mother who rarely ever stood up against my father when he claimed that I was doing something improperly. Being told every day that your desire to see the world away from Casterly Rock was nonsense, men don’t wish to have a scholarly wife, posture and not voicing your own opinion is key or overall that any sliver of freedom you believe that you are entitled to is squashed underneath your boots.”
Taking a long breath I hadn’t realized that I hadn’t taken a breath since I had started talking. Brushing some loose hair from the messy braid I brushed my fingers over my cheek feeling some wetness from tears that had slipped out, finally recalling who I was talking to right now.
Lowering my gaze neither of us uttered a word making the only sound we heard was from the burning fire inside the room and the creatures outside the castle walls. Daemon leans his body back against the chair, loosening his grip on my wrist catching me off guard with his next response. “What do you wish to have now, Lacey?”
“What I want. You - you truly ask me, my prince?”
Daemon shot me a look. “I did not stutter, did I.”
“No! Uh - no, you didn’t.”
Moving my gaze to meet mine he raised a brow slightly at me. “I’m expecting an answer today if you don’t mind.”
“Freedom.”
He asks softly. “Freedom?”
“Yes.”
Without a moment to waste Daemon abruptly stood from his chair, securing his sword from the table and pulling his black hood up over his head. He reached down, grabbed my freehand and began leading me out of the library at a fast pace where I nearly dropped the Valyrian book from my other hand. The fabric of my golden nightgown blew behind me with our movements while I struggled to comprehend which direction we were going because of how much each hallway seemed to blur together rather than show any difference.
Daemon kept a secure hold on my wrist taking me up a set of huge steps, fourteen steps by my count. Then we went up another shorter set of steps till we reached a thick chamber door that he pushed open revealing a torch lit corridor that had a wooden crate sitting by the doorway. He dug inside the crate bringing out another black cloak that he draped over my shoulders once he turned to face me, lifting the hood to conceal my face from easy view.
“What are we doing?”
Daemon’s fingers lingered on the tip of the hooded fabric before quickly dropping so he could take my hand once more. “You said you wanted freedom. I intend to give it to you.”
“Wait, we can’t leave it here. If my father finds out I have it he’ll-“
His other hand grabbed the Valyrian book gently from my grasp where he laid it down inside the crate and shut the lid. “He’s a minor Lord to you Lacey. For you shall forever be the princess of House Targaryen.”
“Sadly I don’t see myself as such just yet, Daemon.”
“You will.”
He sent me a stern head nod and with that he secured my hand rushing towards the end of the long corridor that eventually led us outside where I took notice of the distant city streets of Kings Landing before us. The two of us made our way down the dirt path till the sounds and new smells began to be front and center. Laughter spills out of open doorways, the clatter of tankards, the rough hum of voices layered over one another. The air smelled of roasted meat, spilled ale, damp stone, and smoke curling from lanterns hung above crooked wooden signs.
Daemon's hand stayed firm around mine, guiding me through the crowd as if he’d done this a thousand times. I tried to keep up, my cloak brushing against strangers as we passed. “Where are you taking me?”
“Some place you've never seen.”
He glanced back, eyes glinting with something sharp and amused.
We stopped before a weathered door, its hinges rusted, lanterns flickering. Voices roared from inside loud and unfiltered. Daemon pushed it open allowing warmth to hit me first, then the noise of dozens of people crowded around tables, shouting over games, slamming down cards, arguing but also laughing. I froze in the doorway tightening my grip on his hand without thinking as Daemon leaned close, his voice low enough for only me to hear.
“Stay by me, little lioness.”
He took me in the direction of one of the tables that had an open chair gently pushing me down to sit in it with him standing behind. A random man with an unkept black beard eyed me tossing me some cards across the table. “How much you betten, stranger?”
“Betten?”
Daemon answers for me. “100 gold coins.”
“Daemon, I've never - I've never played betting games before.” Turning around in my chair I whispered up at him. He lowered his head whispering where I could feel his breath hot on my face.
“Give it a try. What’s the harm, hmm?”
Shifting back around in my chair I picked up my set of cards reading over what I had in my hands beginning to see something come together….or at least I hope so. Daemon stood behind me, arms folded, watching with an unreadable expression as I blankly eyed the cards in my fingers that one of the men noticed barking at me. “You playing or just staring at ’em?”
“Playing.”
Daemon’s voice brushed the back of my neck.
“Careful, they bite.”
“So do lions.”
The cards were painted with Westerosi suits: Lions, Dragons, Stags, and Krakens. The men looked me over with amused skepticism seeing how long I hesitated on laying down my first card on the table which made another man grin. “She’s never played Kingsblood before.”
Daemon’s voice brushed the back of my neck.
“She learns quickly.”
A new set of cards was slid toward me where I picked them up slowly tracing my eyes over each symbol: a Dragon, a Lion, a Stag, another Lion, and a Kraken as the men were already talking about how they would best me in this new round. But they had no idea that this time was different because a pattern snapped together in my mind like a puzzle locking into place.
The man with the messy black beard placed a card face down and I put one down watching the other two men until we each picked up the new card that came around to each of us. Lifting my card up to me I didn’t notice at first how Daemon titled his head slightly, having a tiny smile form.
“I told you she doesn’t know what she’s doing.”
Another guy nodded till he took a look at his own cards, eyes wide open as he focused on the two of us across from him. “Seven hells. She’s got a Lion’s March.”
“No, she doesn’t.” The third man scoffed, pointing a finger at the prince. “He’s bluffing for her.”
Shuffling the cards in my hands I laid them down on the table with a smirk spreading across my lips. All three men leaned forward with the color disappearing from their faces as they took it all in. Daemon placed a hand on my shoulder making me glance over at him with a tooth splitting grin up at him. The smirk on his lips slowly grew seeing such joy written all over my face, seeing so many emotions show up on my face.
He went to move closer where it seemed he might go in to kiss me until the sound of the men throwing coins, angrily murmuring under their breath, determined to win at least one round back except that was all of their money they had just lost.
The specific winning hand was flawless by my count. A Lion’s Dominion, the highest run in Kingsblood.
“She bled us dry!”
“What’s your name girl. Surely you can’t play that sneaky unless you were-“
Daemon raised a hand sternly looking between each of the three men that straightened in their seats immediately even though they didn’t know who we were as far as I knew. “I believe you men owe this lady a round of drinks for beating you fair and square.”
One of the men came back after purchasing two big goblets filled with a dark liquid. Daemon picked his up first then handed me my own, clinking them together. Raising the cup up to my mouth I tipped it back having a bitter liquid go down my throat, a faint burning sensation spreading up my throat and causing a fit of coughing to come out.
“G-gods.” Slamming the cup down on the table I hit my chest coughing some more until the burning faded away. “I thought wine was supposed to be sweet.”
Daemon dryly chuckled, finishing the remainder in his own cup. “It’s cheap, Lace. Simply for having a free evening.”
My mouth parts hearing his words having something flip inside my mind, likely from the foreign wine in my belly, the night itself or maybe even Daemon himself. Pushing my chair away I rose abruptly to my feet, reaching down and taking his hand in mine. “Come with me.” Daemon slowly sat his goblet down on the table, surprisely allowing me to drag him in whatever direction I was choosing to go.
Moving through the crowded tavern in my simple gown and cloak we bumped into a couple of people till I managed to find an empty spot in the hallway by a set of wooden stairs. Daemon stopped in his tracks with his back near the wall behind him leaving me standing in front of him. Our gazes intensely locked on one another as he calmly asked me in the dimly lit hallway.
“What are you doing, Lacey?”
Focusing upon his deep violet eyes, a feat of boldness came over me. Taking a few steps towards him I leaned up on my boots closing almost the whole gap between us. “Whatever a dragon wants…..” Muttering up to him he closely watches my next movement waiting to see if my lips would meet his own.

It feels so good and so weird this week, to spend so much time alone and let almost all of my headspace to House of the Dragon and Daemon, and Matt. It's gonna sound cringe I guess, but feels like having an old friend over.
Matt Smith was my first celebrity crush. I had a folder in my computer with over 800 pictures of him. I searched and watched every movie he'd made then, I was almost alone in the theatre to see Lost River. I looted Tumblr and Youtube for scraps of American Psycho the Musical, I bawled my eyes out watching Christopher and his Kind, and Womb, finding out much more intense roles Matt was capable of.
I was 19, a complete white canvas, discovering who I was and getting into Doctor Who and having this Matt Smith phase set me on a path that literally helped me define myself. Stepping into the fandom zone got me to write, my first ever fanfic was a DW one, with Eleven and sort of a Tardis OC. It also got me to want to express myself, to write articles, so I actually studied to become a reporter, been one for four years, and along that path, I stumbled onto Supernatural, and I am shackled with those damn winchesters guys, but it all started with Matt and the Doctor.
I'm 32 now and if I allow myself to obsess over tv shows and actors, it's because my 19 year old self did it first. I owe so much to her, much more than I owe to that weird looking British bloke.

Fabien Frankel declares in a new interview, "God, I hate them all (TB). I don't like Daemon. I don't like Rhaenyra. I don't like any of their team. I don't like what they represent."
But at the same time, he calls Aegon a legend and a good guy 😭🤣 Aemond is innocent lol. And he's actually rooting for the green team and hopes they win.
I have bad news for you, dude.
I understand that Fabien is ready to roast the show and tease the fans after he's finished, but a little common sense wouldn't hurt him. I understand you support your team and you're friends with the actors and want to highlight them, but calling Aegon a good guy? PEAK OF COMEDY. And of course, Criston is a complex and misunderstood character. Yeah, yeah, no one cares, dude. Fabien needs to pull himself together and stop whining. I'm irritated by these types of "sensitive" actors who are always whining about how their characters aren't treated fairly. It happens in your line of work. Why don't I see Phoebe Campbell whining about how her character is being cut and downplayed? Why doesn't Harry Collet whine about how little character development he gets? It's always Fabien.
Of course he's being criticized for such words now. And the greens are now defending him, saying it's a joke and we need to calm down. It's a shame they never follow their own advice when they freak out when TB actors talk about their loyalty to their faction and act like they're offended. Just recently, they were whining and criticizing the same Harry, who simply said he was TB and didn't understand those who supported TG. Or when he said there was nothing worse than being Alicent's son. Even though Harry always speaks warmly of Aegon and Helaena
I didn't really want to post this, but why not?!?
I don't think there's a need to read too much into the actors' words. They all get along great. I'd even say Fabien and Matt are good friends. His words are no different from those of any actor supporting their team: Matt, Emma, Olivia, Tom Glyn Carney, Bethany, Harry etc.
They're all teasing and provoking. It's just for fun and entertainment. I don't think I need to explain all of this.
As for the rest, I'm not a fan of Criston. Maybe he's not bad in the books, considering everyone mentions the book version, but I haven't read them. But I don't have any sympathy for him on the show.
But that's not about Fabien. He's just an actor, and of course he's upset that his character wasn't given more development. I think many of the hotd actors feel this way, and many would like to speak out, but they have their own reasons for remaining silent. Fabien also often points out how his character was made completely "evil," cutting out scenes that would have made him more relatable. Although, for me, that wouldn't have changed my opinion of Criston lol. My opinion of him is based solely on his attitude toward Rhaenyra and the Velaryon boys. And he's complete crap in that regard. Sorry not sorry.
So, just forget it. Don't pay attention to it. And yes, tg fans will always be hypocrites, no matter how they point at tb fans. Harry's example is a good one. I recently saw someone mock Bethany for saying in a new interview that, as a book reader, she strongly requested that RC not change her character's storyline. So there will always be trolls. I'm sure there are some in tb, too.
it's the way matt compliments fabien, and how he knows him so well, how fabien is such a delicate, beautiful soul, and how he yearned for that absolute mess to end only to miss the memories and the crew so deeply
