this scene isn’t just a crazy laugh; it’s a laugh born to release all the oppression, the tragedies, and the utter humiliation aegon has had to endure. in those gasps for air between the laughs, you can see it so clearly: how deeply sad and angry he is, only to break back out into an even madder laugh. it’s a desperate release, and a sudden rush of feeling like he’s finally won with the return of sunfyre, who is loving him unconditionally and will be his strongest protector and ultimate motivation during this shitty phase of his life, so thank you tom for this breathtaking performance, and for simply being my favorite actor in the entire show
