She had been really having trouble keeping her eyes open for the last ten minutes and had tried quite a few techniques to keep herself awake. They were all just beginning to fail and let her doze off when a stern voice above her dragged her back.

She looked up at the woman and nodded in agreement, pushing her long, dark locks out of her face. “Yeah. You’re right, I really shouldn’t. Actually, I should probably start getting back to the Mall,” she admitted, standing up in a hurry. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to overstay my welcome. I’m just- It’s exhausting, getting here. “ i have , yeah. ” eli let out a chuckle. “ way, way back in high school when I first met my wife – she was my first real girlfriend , come to think of it. ” he never realized just how lonely his adolescences was. “ i wrote her the cheesiest love song. ” sigh. “ never showed it to her though. ”

silence. “ i don’t think i have one. ” truthfully , too. he didn’t listen to lovey dovey songs so often. and if he did , he couldn’t remember the lyrics to it.

the way she walked into the classroom that one day : hair framing her delicate features. his heart nearly skipped a beat when he first laid his eyes on her. and his cheeks surely turned pink in excitement when his teacher asked him to show her around the school. that was years and years ago. “ uh – yeah. yeah i do. ”
