Ummm uhhh so...
Smith clone self-insert.
I didn't want to post it because as much as I love Smith and express it on my page every day, a whole OC based on him seemed to be too much and would make me look weird. Also self-inserts are generally considered cringe, and I don't really want to be seen that way– but mayyybe you people are going to like it. The Matrix fandom is very friendly after all. I'm too shy to post it on our community's page, so it'll just lie here on my blog.
The name is 711 (pronounced "seven-eleven") since it's the 711th clone Smith created. I'm not really sure about its gender because it used to be a girl before she got infected?? Just a Smith ig. But let's call 711 "he" since Smith is a male.
Like other clones, 711 is not very talkative. He prefers to be in the background and usually speaks only if he's directly addressed. 711 likes to observe the behavior of those around him, so he spends his time just staring at the Smiths through his shades. They all can read each other's mind, but 711 prefers to read just the OG Smith's one because it's of his greatest interest. He finds it exciting to be able to think with Smith's thoughts when the OG wants it (like when they're about to fight and he needs the clones to work harmoniously) and looks forward to it every time.
711 was a bluepilled goth girl. Extremely introverted and rather lonely, with only horror movies and music keeping her company. A pretty dull life if you think about it, so when the Matrix was taken over, she quite willingly let Smith infect her because what else was she supposed to do? She wasn't going to survive this anyway. Thus, the 711th clone was born.
I'm not sure if it's canon, but knowing how faulty the Matrix has become when Smith started messing with it, there can be a problem with his own duplication. 711 is this problem. He's prone to glitching, and when he does, glimpses of his previous appearance can be seen, like hair, eyes or other body parts. They disappear fast, but when it happens, other Smiths and the OG give him weird looks. It's not like he minds it though. His only purpose is to serve Smith, and if he does it like he should, this little bug is not an issue for him. Sometimes he sees a girl's face in his reflection, but doesn't know who she is. The memories of the past are gone.
This Smith is just as quiet as he is bloodthirsty. He will rip the victim's flesh apart and only then stick his hand inside to contaminate them. He likes it when the OG notices that because he (OG) finds it just as enjoyable, and it doubles 711's own satisfaction thanks to their connection. He often finds himself covered in blood, but it disappears after glitching.
I suppose every clone shares this deep hatred Smith has for Neo, so 711's dream is to cut him open. Not like it's going to come true of course. The OG Smith won't let anyone else deal with Neo, but even a clone can fantasize a little.
711 and Smith relationship
When Smith suffers, every clone suffers. 711 finds strange comfort in sharing pain with the creator, and Smith can sense it, which helps him to relax.
711 is the type to gently nudge his shoulder instead of providing verbal support. Can also hold his hand or even give him a hug, and Smith allows it from time to time.
In contrast to Smith's self-harm tendencies, 711 is on the sadistic side. He knows when Smith wants to be hurt, and he can provide him with that. Leave long scratches on his skin (they can be deep if he glitches at the right moment and his long, well-manicured nails appear) or bite him. For Smith, it's exactly like if he was doing it to himself. He's thankful to 711 for these moments as the pain makes him feel more alive. It's not as overwhelming as in M3 when he was in Bane's body either, so having his clone do it for him in the Matrix would probably make his liking for 711 grow more.
711 was a Bluepill in his past life, so he doesn't exactly get what Smith means when he talks about being free, but he actively indulges in his idea of taking over the Matrix and then the whole Machine City. He mentally sends Smith the signals representing what he imagines their victory will be like, and Smith likes it a lot.
I'm not going to surprise anyone if I say that Smith clones are pretty dim compared to the OG. They harbor his memories and set of skills, sure, but they're mostly there to do the dirty work, and 711 is no exception. He does love to listen to Smith talking, though. He would sit there and nod at his every word like an obedient pet. Even take his shades off to show his openness and trust. Smith is going to see so much love in these eyes that look just like his.
Their dynamic be like:
Whew. That's all. Very anxious about it, but at least now you know I have my own Matrix self-insert. Yay? 💔
