Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) - Mayweed, Heermannchen. Chamomile is used medicinally to soothe and calm nerves, aid in gentle sleep, help a sore stomach and help regulate irritable bowel syndrome among other things. Magically it is used to attract money, purify spaces and for protection. Added to simple gambling charms for great effect. It is one of the 9 sacred herbs of the Saxons, mentioned in the Lacnunga. It can be grown almost anywhere in the world indoors, provided it gets enough light. I’ve been growing my own outdoors over the summer in Iceland and it’s just a potent as my other plants back in the UK.
