‘ don’t allow the world to take your kindness ’
♚——————– lips are pressed firmly together, eyes blinking to fight back the sadness that wells in her chest and makes the taste in the back of her throat bitter. was she truly that despicable? how many times had she been cast aside, or cursed? the number was unknown, but too many times had these wounds been given to her heart. brought into the world knowing cruelty and only finding solace in her sister was enough, but somehow there could be more. there were others who saw past her differences and her flaws – others that opened their arms and welcomed her into their embrace and chose her.Â
its why lips tremble and her face tucks itself into the crook of hilda’s shoulder, desperately wishing to curl up and hide away from the world around her. teeth bite down into her bottom lip willing it to stop its quiver, fingers curling into fists as she folds her arms into her chest. always so bold and so brave, to reveal such pain makes her stomach curl – but its the soft stroke of a hand over her wild red curls and the gentle tone of hildas voice that makes her pain ease bit by bit. her lips press firmly together as she takes comfort in the soft gestures hilda always seems to give her, sad crimson eyes lifting up to look at her.Â
her words are soft and tired, every ounce of her aching is in each syllable as she looks to the warmth that is hilda. “ i’m so tired of being kind – the only good it ever gave me was you and my sisters, nothing else. “ she states with a shake of her head a hand coming to cover her face, and her resolves returns slightly. lips no longer threatening to tremble but sadness still heavy in her gaze as she rests her cheek on hildas shoulder voice low and tired. “ the world took my kindness so long ago, we would be strangers today. “Â
