December 2019, my Secret Santa art for @knaifu-waifu of their matope-swamp.com adoptable (which I coloured), Flock Together! He's a bird-inspired critter, so I went for classic cute birb poses: one leg up, and the upside down curl.

A few days after my breakdownTM, Maxx’s computer imploded, which will teach him to ignore its dying cries for the past ten years. There was no resuscitating it this time, but he occasionally has to work with video for his currently non-existent part-time gig, so he couldn’t compromise. Jury had his follow-up today: he’s not healing up as fast as the vet’d like, so that’s a $200 shot and follow-up in two weeks - but fingers crossed he’ll be able to avoid a second surgery.

We’ve scraped like (the) paupers (we are) these twenty years to sock away an emergency fund; it’s frightening and galling how quickly it disappears. My second biggest fear right now is the lockdown extending - even if the landlord relents, we can’t pay two rents for another month. But the numbers don’t look good. Nothing to do for it but count the days down and pray.
