Ptiu drace! Comic Con opens tomorrow 4 u!
Romanian comics are a bit atypical (not unlike most other things Romanian). On the Eastern outskirts of a European tradition that spans almost three hundred years, Romanians have painted serious „sequential art” since the 15th century. Most famously, Voroneţ Monastery in Northern Moldavia features well-known superheroes such as All-Mighty God, His Angels and, of course, Dracul (aka The Devil). The best part of these ancestral „comics”: Voroneţ Monastery is located in Gura Humorului (meaning 'Mouth of Humour').
But enough with historical considerations. Here we are now, 2011 AD: the very first presence of Romanian benzi desenate at the largest East Coast US comics convention, New York Comic Con. We have: Grrr… Meow… Zât… Pleoşc… Pfff… Splash… Zbeng… K-Boom… Ete Scârţ! Would you miss something like that?
