Gluten free matcha pinwheels! Well... the recipe calls them that but I call them 'swirly nom noms' for self-explanatory reasons. Anyone who knows me knows that I've wanted to go to Japan since I was eight years old. I'm now twenty-two and I am actively planning my trip. I am scared. Most days I think I don't feel a thing. Maybe I don't. I'm working as hard as I can but sometimes I just don't see the point. Sometimes I have to fight just to pick up a textbook or to get to work on time. It's a struggle but my eight year old self is watching me. How could I look her in the eye and say she's never going to Japan because I can't be bothered? So. My mum once told me (recently but I forgot when woops) that I can visit Japan in this final stretch of daydreams, yearning and waiting. I can visit by eating food which is from Japan (like matcha pinwheels), watching TV shows and consuming their media, continuing to teach myself the language etc. I can visit Japan in tiny moments like these. It's not enough forever but it's enough for right now. I have a promise to an eight year old girl to keep. #matchapinwheels #matcha #piecesofjapan #japan #glutenfree #coeliacsdisease #coeliacs #ivegotthis #iwantitsobaditmakesmyskinitch https://www.instagram.com/p/B3KGGrjn4K2/?igshid=dka1wl4cm6d6
