Inside, Charlie whittled away her worries while lightning split the sky outside, illuminating the room just long enough for her to make out the fine cracks in the aged ceiling. It was close, close enough that she barely counted to one before the crack of thunder rattled her bones.
Danse twitched and grumbled his protest of the offending storm before rolling over and blindly reaching though the dark.
“Charlie…?”

EPL Game Week 38 Preview | Liverpool FC VS Middlesbrough
Here it is. The final Premier League match preview of the season! What a season it’s been for us Reds and the absolute cherry on top would be to finally secure Champions League football with a hammering of Sunday’s opponents Middlesbrough.
Team News |
Roberto Firmino is once again a doubt for this match with the Brazilian missing team training all week but Jürgen Klopp wasn’t in any mood to rule him out just yet during his pre-match press conference.
Klopp’s exact words on the forward were “very positive… I would rather say yes but I’m not sure.” However, given how well the Sturridge/Origi partnership played on Sunday Klopp may not be too worried if he cannot make it. Mané, Henderson and Ings are the only other expected injury absentees.
The visitors are expected to still be missing ex-Barcelona stopper Victor Valdes who is yet to recover from a rib injury while attacking midfielder Gastón Ramírez is their only other notable absentee. Daniel Ayala and Adlène Guedioura are also out with injury.
Premier League Form - Most Recent First |
Liverpool – WWLWDW
It’s looking good for the Reds, I have to say. One loss in our last six matches does not make for bad reading whatsoever and it’s made even more impressive when you look back and see we’ve only dropped points in four games since the start of March.
Of course, everyone’s going to point to our record against sides in their part of the table but let’s be real here. We haven’t played against a single team placed in the top six since our 1-1 draw with Manchester City and in that time we’ve played eight league games, winning five, drawing two and losing just the one.
If the Anfield crowd can put aside their nerves and really sing, chant and get behind the team for the full 90 minutes on Sunday I have no doubts our good form will continue.
Middlesbrough – LLDWLL
Meanwhile, for Middlesbrough, it’s been a case of getting stuck up shit creek without a paddle for much of the season. While they did recently hold Manchester City to a 2-2 draw at the Riverside and put up a valiant fight against Arsenal to keep the damage to a 2-1 loss, they’ve only won one Premier League game this calendar year when they beat dead last Sunderland 1-0.
Previously their defensive form had been earning them a lot of points courtesy of 0-0 draws but of late even that’s subsided fairly rapidly and they’ve conceded 13 goals in their last six games, managing just the one shutout.
Recent Meetings |
Liverpool has won each of their last four Premier League matches against Middlesbrough at Anfield, scoring at least two goals on each occasion and in the reverse fixture this season ran riot in a ‘routine’ 3-0 victory at the Riverside.
The Reds will be hoping to continue their Anfield dominance on Sunday and if the statistics are anything to go by then they really should do. The 14 games played at Anfield between the two in the Premier League have seen Liverpool win 10 and Middlesbrough leave with a share of the points on just 4 occasions.
Prediction |
If the Reds can get an early goal then for me, that’ll be game over. Middlesbrough started the season strong in defence, keeping their goals against column impressively vacant but have struggled in the latter stages of this season to keep one from becoming two, two from becoming three and so on. If the Reds go out playing positive football and manage to score an early goal or two then all they’ll have to do is keep themselves switched on and the three points should be secured.
Liverpool 2 – 0 Middlesbrough

WrestleMania 33 Preview: Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin
Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose’s indestructible nature will be put to the test at the hands of “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin at The Ultimate Thrill Ride, WrestleMania 33.
The 6-foot-8 biker thug has already done a number on The Lunatic Fringe, whether it was Deep-Sixing him through an electrical board or injuring Ambrose’s ribs by crushing him underneath a forklift. However, the champion is resilient, as well as reckless and unpredictable, as evidenced by his response to the forklift attack: While being transported to a medical facility on the night of the incident, Ambrose reportedly jumped out of the moving vehicle and began trekking back to the arena on foot, in search of retribution. Two weeks later, he rode a forklift back into SmackDown LIVE to officially accept a WrestleMania showdown with Corbin.
Both Superstars are used to being the toughest guy in whatever town they roll into, the sort of stock Jim Croce wrote songs about, so it’s no surprise that they’ve run afoul of each other. The hostility only intensified as Ambrose and Corbin kept getting in each other’s way as they both pursued the WWE Championship.
The Lunatic Fringe’s attack mode is perpetual motion, but it remains to be seen whether his famously high threshold for pain will be enough to endure battle with Corbin. Perhaps the heavy-hitting Lone Wolf will be the Superstar to finally shut down the unbreakable champion.
It’s equally possible that Ambrose is most dangerous when he’s hurt and angry. Focused on survival and retaliation, his darkest instincts kick in, releasing whatever reins keep this freewheeling force tethered to decency on a day-to-day basis.
WrestleMania’s Intercontinental Championship Match will be a brawl. Watch The Ultimate Thrill Ride, WrestleMania 33, live on the award-winning WWE Network Sunday, April 2, at a special start time of 7 ET/4 PT.
Wrestlemania 33 Preview: The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns
Only one Superstar can run the yard in WWE, and at WrestleMania, the world will find out whether that distinction belongs to The Undertaker or Roman Reigns.
The showdown between The Phenom and The Big Dog, now confirmed for Sunday, April 2, brings into conflict the most dominant force in WrestleMania history and arguably the most powerful competitor in recent memory.
The Undertaker has been WWE’s unofficial gatekeeper, enforcer and overseer for more than a quarter-century, regardless of his championship status at any given time. However, after Reigns ousted The Deadman from January’s Royal Rumble Match and then told the imposing legend that WWE is now his yard on the March 6 edition of Raw, it became clear that The Undertaker took issue with Reigns’ emboldened outlook. The evidence came in the form of a ring-shaking chokeslam that nearly put The Big Dog through the canvas.
Reigns has achieved a stunning number of accolades in WWE at a breakneck pace, but defeating The Undertaker at The Show of Shows would launch him into WrestleMania infamy and solidify his status as “The Guy.” Over the course of his 24 WrestleMania appearances, The Deadman has lost only once, against Brock Lesnar in 2014, and as the WWE Universe knows all too well, The Undertaker takes on an almost supernatural power when competing at The Showcase of the Immortals.
Can Reigns usurp WWE’s Phenom at WrestleMania, or will The Undertaker prove he is still the biggest dog in the yard? Find out when The Ultimate Thrill Ride, WrestleMania 33, airs live on WWE Network Sunday, April 2, at a special start time of 7 ET/4 PT.
It’s a Super Sunday for United in today’s EFL Cup Final!
Manchester United go into their eighth League Cup final with the chance to win their first trophy of the season, today at Wembley. The Reds have five wins on the bounce, the last of which was a cagey, 1-0 win against AS Saint- Étienne in the Europa League. They face a determined Southampton side, who recently trounced Sunderland 0-4 in the League and beat Liverpool 2-0 on aggregate to reach the final.
Coming off the latest injury update, Michael Carrick, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Phil Jones and Wayne Rooney all still traveled to London with the team, though it is not yet known whether they will feature in the matchday squad. Ander Herrera is set to return from suspension.
The match will be refereed by Andre Marriner. KO is at 1630 GMT.
