    John’s smile fell and he didn’t move, unsure if he should move or not. Sherlock just relocated his hands to almost THERE. Did he realise that he just did that or no? Well, Sherlock was a very purposeful man so it couldn’t possibly be an accident.

    “Well, now I’ll pay more attention...” John smirked against the skin of Sherlock’s neck. “And I don’t have to talk to do this.”

“Which is why I have a career in seeing what others don’t and you’re in training. And I know you’ve been through my sock drawer, I wouldn’t bother if I was you.”

    “Yeah, if we practically drape ourselves over each other...are you sure you’re okay with that?” he asked slowly. John turned away and began to change into his sleep clothes.

If Greg hadn’t been in the middle of potentially the worst panic attack he’d ever had, he probably would have made some sort of sarky remark in response to that (’oh, wow, I never thought of that-!’), but as it was, he could barely think past the panic clouding his mind and the lack of oxygen numbing his lips.

Tears cascaded down his cheeks, chest heaving as he tried to get himself together and stop hyperventilating and  b r e a t h e. He clung to whatever part of Sherlock he’d managed to grab a hold of, trying to use the feel under his hands and the sound of Sherlock’s voice to ground himself.

I’m okay, I’m okay, I’m okay, he told himself silently, lips trembling as they moved with the words, I’ll be okay, this will pass, I’ll be okay--

A shuddering sob left him and he clung to Sherlock tighter, beginning to count out loud, slowly, backward from 100 in threes.
