I've seen "fuck the beauty industrial complex" posts about complicated skincare regimens and am 100% with them except sometimes they mention sunscreen and no. no. absolutely not. sunscreen is a wonderful supportive friend who wants to keep you safe, and you should let her do it. throw out all your other cosmetics and skincare products if you want, but keep your sunscreen. and if you're not wearing sunscreen, start wearing it!!!! this is not about terror of aging, this is not about every tiny imperfection our fucked-up culture has made you feel insecure about, this is about protecting yourself from skin cancer. wear the damn sunscreen.

It's like Veilguard is the brown eyes are beautiful, too, brigade or something (not that I mind it, mind you 😆).

We have Neve's sultry, unfathomable dark eyes, mysterious yet still playful, Bellara's bright, amber-brown jewels of wonder, Lucanis's moody yet surprisingly sweet espresso orbs, and Davrin's melt-in-your-mouth milk chocolate drops. Then there's Emmrich: hazel-brown with a hint of necromancer green, and Taash: obsidian sidling up on midnight blue. The only one without some version of brown eyes is Harding, whose greens are still laced with gold. Yes, I typed laced. 😝

[I know this game is technically old news, but I specifically avoided Veilguard stuff before playing. Not because of spoilers, which can only ruin a story which hinges too much on shock-value imo, but instead, to keep my Baldur's Gate 3 hyperfixation from getting derailed. BG3 characters now have permanent residency in my brain matter, so I finally feel that it's safe to play a Dragon Age game again.]

Just a reminder that as adorable as bats are, if you’re ever in a room with a bat and especially if you have one land on you, you need the rabies series. Bat bites can be undetectable and they are the leading cause of rabies deaths in North America. Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms develop.

The Canadian Medical Association Journal just published a case report of the first locally acquired case of rabies in Ontario since the 1920s, and it sounds like the family didn’t realize that since he didn’t have an obvious bite, he still needed the vaccine. It’s an absolutely tragic story.

The rabies vaccine series is extremely effective as post-exposure prophylaxis. Admire bats from afar, and if you have an exposure get the vaccine!
