One of the highlights of the trip to Hawaii had been meeting Mardra. It was one of those meetings like in the movies where two people bumped into each other, then ended up drinking together for the rest of the night. Milo had thought he and Mardra clicked very well, and he enjoyed her company. Getting to hang out again was something he looked forward to, so when he saw her coming, the first thing he did was raise his arm in the air and wave to her, “Hey, Mardra! Over here.” It was probably a little more excitement than the moment called for, but he was excited to see her again. Probably more than he’d ever been to see anyone else. 

chasen wouldn’t say that he hadn’t been avoiding clem since the gala––‘cause he’d like it on the record that he wasn’t scared of anything, not even pretty girls in sparkly lipgloss who saw through his soul with a bat of their lashes. he’d just been busy (( fighting with daisy and being a menace to society was a full-time job, after all )). still, he’d missed her. she was the only person in the entire building who didn’t make him want to pull his bottom lip over his head and swallow, so he couldn’t stay away for long. “cancel all your lunch plans,” he grinned at her over her desk and drummed his fingers on the cool wood, “because we’re getting sushi––might rob a bank, too, if we eat fast enough.”
