I just had the absolute weirdest shit happen in the Sims 3??? It has never happened before??? I have the Master Controller mod as well as a few others for minor things, so maybe that caused it???
I adopted a child. A girl toddler. I named her something the game would never choose (Sonic Hedgeho). My dude was teaching the girl to walk, but then he got a goal to teach a different baby to walk? A boy this time? I accidentally clicked for it to go away so I didn't see any major details besides the fact that it was a totally different baby.
I left my daughter downstairs to play, and went upstairs to work, but my dude had a negative moodlet from a crying baby??? I have needs static, so I knew it wasn't my daughter. Then the icon popped up of the same mystery baby as before????
So I checked his relationships and the mystery baby was there with the same name as my daughter???? But he wasn't listed as my son! He was just an acquaintance. Also, he didn't live with me! He wasn't even in my town at all???
I ended up feeling super bad for this poor, apparently crying ghost baby, so I cheated to add him to my household, and he was wearing the same clothes as my daughter, and spawned in my house in the same place she'd been before I told her to go play???
Anyway. I'm attached to him now, so I downloaded another mod that will allow me to change my family tree so he's my son, and I'm gonna come up with a new name for him. Maybe Knuckles Echidna.

you guys I successfully installed some DOPE mods by Nraas last night! (after heavily debating this for years I finally did it!! Yay me.) I got Master Controller, Overwatch and Story Progression...so my question is, what other mods do you guys recommend I download?! Also, any tips when using these mods? Today Iâm going to test Nraas Master Controller to see if it fixes my ageing up problem. Iâll be updating this step by step as I test it.
Step 1. Installation.
Information on the website was very informative and placing the files in the game was a pretty standard procedure. There was one base file and several additional files with additional fancy features, which I decided to try out too. I had to remove my old CMAR mods as I had a suspicion they would clash. The tattoo mod from Master Controller should replace it, according to the website.
Step 2. Loading the game.
Firstly I tried starting the Launcher. It opened really quickly! Usually it takes ages. However, when I pressed play, I only got a little way past the Maxis logo and loading screen before the game crashed with the usual âstopped workingâ notification. So I tried bypassing the launcher. The same thing happened.
I opened Delphyâs Dashboard to check for conflicts/corruption but there was nothing listed.
I tried something else - testing running the game in other compatibility modes. Windows 8 failed. Vista failed. XP failed. Windows 7 failed. Thatâs all my options! The troubleshooter said the program was incompatible. Well, Iâve always managed to load before, soâŠ
I tried one more time with Windows 8 compatibility⊠It failed. Strangely, every time I try to start my game by bypassing the launcher, it comes up with the âwould you like this program to make changes to your computerâ notification which doesnât normally happen. I wonder if thatâs because I had to change some things the other day. I hope thatâs not the problem as I have no idea how to fix that!
I deleted my cache files. I thought I already had, but obviously not. Loading still failed.
I went and removed NRaas Master Controller Cheats, Expanded Tattoo, Progression, Integration, and CMAR Tattoo Locations, and restored my old CMAR mods from the recycle bin. I only kept the Base Master Controller file in there. I tried loading from the launcher⊠it got further along the line⊠success! I got into the menu screen and clicked to play my current family. The family loading screen zipped along, hung at the end of the loading bar for several minutes (as it always does on my game) then I was finally in!
Step 3. Custom Content Check.
When my family loaded I got a message saying there were some missing objects. I knew this as I removed some bad CC yesterday. Several of my family membersâ hair/clothing had been replaced so I went to send one sim to the mirror to change appearance. This option was not available. I guessed this was due to Master Controller. I clicked on the sim and an option for NRaas came up. I clicked it and chose âStylistâ from the menu. It instantly loaded the stylist room. Annoyingly Iâve lost a lot of CC. I donât know if this is all due to running Delphyâs Dashboard and deleting some? I have lost a lot of my hairstyles, makeup and clothes⊠Hmmm.
Anyway, this could be a different problem which I might be able to fix. Letâs try that.
I went to Edit Town, and to Create A Household. The sim I tried to edit before is pregnant so maybe the lack of clothing is less extreme on a non pregnant sim.
In Create a Sim I tried loading a few of my saved sims. This would give me a quicker idea of how much CC Iâve lost. The first sim I loaded had missing clothing and makeup. The second one had the same⊠The third was OK, but the fourth was totally messed up! Even the hair colour was different! I tested the hair to see if I could change the colour back to the bright red it was before. When I clicked on a custom style, it automatically went red. Weird! Strangely I do seem to have a lot of custom hairstyles still. Theyâre not in the same order they were so I canât think if Iâm missing many. There are definitely some missing, but not loads. Eyebrows is a different matter - all of my decent ones are gone.
I clicked on clothing to see the extent of my problems. The first thing I noticed as I waited for the tops to load was a new clothing category near the bottom. It was for Career, which was not available in create a sim before. This must be Master Controller! At least thereâs one good thing there! But still, Iâm missing loads of CC. Some of my really nice stuff. And I did not delete this much yesterday. No way. I right clicked on a top in the selection panel to see what would happen - on the website it said about right clicking on things to use Master Controller. Nothing happened. Out of curiosity I clicked on Career. There were indeed clothes in there to choose. Meh whatever. It doesnât bring my CC back.
I had an idea. I thought Iâd check to see if ârun without custom content was selectedâ. I guess this could have been changed when installing MC⊠I went back to the launcher without saving. On the installed content panel, ârun without custom contentâ wasnât checked⊠But then I noticed something else. There was NO custom content installed at all! The CC Iâd been able to see before must have all been in package form. There were no Sims 3 packs. That made sense! So I went on Downloads and reinstalled everything. The installer loaded so quickly! Usually it takes ages to even appear! Actually installing the CC took ages though, so I took a well needed food break!
After about a year the installer finished so I clicked OK. The installer screen went black but hung there forever, so I ended it. Now the Launcher was frozen too. I waited a while but nothing changed, so I ended that too. Hopefully that wonât affect the installation - it did say it was done. I couldnât get the game to load. I got to the black screen before the Maxis screen and it got stuck. I checked in Task Manager and it said not responding. I set the priority to realtime and nothing happened. I tried to end processes in the wait chain and it crashed my game. Darn. I restarted the launcher, which took much longer to load now all my CC is installed (luckily it all is!). I pressed play and the Sims started to load quite quickly! Yes! Step 4 - Testing Ageing Up While the installer was still working, I went back to look at the NRaas website and realised why I couldnât right click on clothes in CAS. Itâs because I havenât got the Integration module installed⊠So fair enough! A lot of the things I was looking forward to trying out, I canât try as I had to take the extra modules out to stop my game crashing. But itâs ok because I still have the ability to trigger age transition! Iâm going to load an old game where I had the ageing up problem to see if I can fix it! In this family, the little girl could not age up to a teen. Every time I tried to get her to have her birthday at the cake, sheâd do the celebration, then nothing would happen. Eventually she couldnât do anything at all! She was just standing in the same spot forever. I quit the game and gave up on the family. Luckily I didnât delete the saved game, so I can test MC on her! My last save on the game was on the girlâs birthday. I got her home from school and used Trigger Age Transition. The camera panned out and focused on her, Have Birthday came up then disappeared. Nooooo!!!! I reset her using MC and she reappeared in different clothes and hair. I tried to Trigger Age Transition again but it didnât work⊠I reset her again and instead of trying again to Trigger Age Transition, I chose Edit in CAS. I thought it might crash my game, but I got in. I aged her up to a teen then set about giving her decent hair, clothes etc. and choosing her traits. For some reason, she now has purple eyes? Iâm think they were brown or blue before. Ugh! I changed them to blue. I canât tell if her face has changed as itâs been so long since I played with her. Her lips kind of look like her sisterâs, I think? But at the same time she kind looks very âdefaultâ. Her mother was default looking, so maybe thatâs it. She has good cheekbones like her dad and I donât think those are default. Well, I managed to age her up in CAS, but when I got back to the game, sheâd become one of those weird, squashed sims people make memes about and her age state still said she was a child. Aargh! But wait! I was about to give up, then I actually let her go to the fridge⊠and as if by magic, she stretched out to a teen size, and her age bar went up! Excellent. To be sure nothing else weird happened, I played with the family for a few more hours. She was slightly jolty in her actions, and her jaw occasionally juts out, but for the most part she looked good, and a lot like her mother. Time passed until the normal ageing up time, and the game didnât try to age her up again, like what happened to another girl before. Excellent. Test 1 = successful! Step 5 - A second test. The main reason I care so much about this horrible glitch is because it did so many bad things to my Grandmaâs House legacy. My daughter Lola was so horribly glitchy and I donât even remember how badly wrong she went. The glitch also killed my husband prematurely, so I was really upset with his my legacy âendedâ. But maybe with MC, I could actually set things right, for those still alive at least! When I got into the house, my last save had been just after Lola had become a young adult (after using the default Edit in CAS cheat). Before, a couple of hours later, the game tried to age her up and it failed. It didnât even try this time and sheâs carrying on living a normal young adult life! Yay! This is good news! Edit - Oh no. Moments after I posted this, Lola tried to have a birthday and it failed. I reset her and her whole face and body changed! So I went back to the main menu without saving. I have a plan though. It's worth a shot. I reloaded and took her to CAS. I saved her in her pretty young adult state to the sim bin. I let her have her glitchy non-birthday, THEN reset her. Again her face and body changed, but... she's in the sim bin! I sent her to CAS and picked her former self from the sim bin and pressed the tick. Lola's face, body, life state etc all seem fine. I'll continue to test her. One weird glitch is I can't get people to practice charisma in the mirror, but it's a very small price to pay to have my Lola back! So I hopefully declare that NRaas Master Controller has saved my broken game!

iâm having some issues with the slider mutiple in Master Controller, I put them ate x3 but when i edit them in the master controller CAS some sliders donât work like on the jaw,cheeks,eyes etc :/
I decided to finally install the master controller Nraas mod, unfortunately to my luck my game was completely wiped of all my families. I still have my custom content, just all my family saved games... Gone! Any ideas to fix this?
