Here's where I spend the small amount of time I have for gaming this week. Massive Chalice is a fantasy XCOM with a real cool take on the effects of time. You play over generations, slowly breeding your teams. And it's very purdy. #massivechalice

Massive Chalice, Double Fine's Kickstarted, generation-spanning, turn-based strategy game has been released on Steam Early Access. The game is available on PC, Mac and Linux with Early Access pricing being set at £17.24, which works out as some 25 per cent off the regular price of £22.99. Successfully Kickstarted back in June last year, Massive [...]
Just keeping people posted on the goings on. Lately, I've been streaming Legend of Grimrock 2 on my Twitch channel. The entire playthrough will be streamed/recorded and uploaded to youtube as well. The Youtube versions will take a bit longer because they require editing. I can't rightly have a 20-40 hour series on youtube, can I?
In the meantime, I'll bring up another topic that I've received some ire about: Massive Chalice.
Massive Chalice is a strategy RPG made by Double Fine. It's akin to Final Fantasy Tactics and XCOM:EU. The game actually looks great and I was really looking forward to it. I wasn't able to back it on Kickstarter because at the time I was relatively poor (food, bills, and gas - not fun stuff like games). I am still excited for it, but theres a catch...
I will not support the game until Broken Age Part 2 is released. Double Fine is getting a track record of misappropriation. I feel bad because you can tell the team behind Massive chalice is really into their game and they're doing it as a labor of love. I've watched so many streams with info on the game where the devs talk about it and they just gush. So, I'm bummed that I can't join in on the fun, but I can't give money to a company that hasn't given what I already paid for 2 years ago.
Now before people think I'm just a negative nancy and have some kind of grudge let me say this much: I hope they succeed. I was rooting for them from the get go. I understand that things are not as cut and dry as "get money, make game". However, I do have expectations, as would any consumer. I want them to stop making unviable decisions and tighten up so that I can cheerleader them some more. Hopefully, they will turn things around and I can get behind Massive Chalice.
