–he is so prepared! Even more prepared than you, honestly. He’s read every article and book there is with updated info about which positions to give birth in, how to naturally alleviate pain, the sterile process everyone must take to ensure no infections or illnesses are spread. He will be watching everyone like a hawk

–you go a week past your due date, which worries Tatsu, so he does some light exercises with you hoping to induce labor. Wouldn’t you know it, half an hour later your water breaks. Cue Tatsu grabbing the bag he packed six months ago and whipping out a wheelchair you didn’t know you guys had

–Tatsu is great during labor, though he’s secretly very nervous something will go horribly wrong. What will he do if he loses you? What if he loses you BOTH? He was a yakuza, though, so he manages to keep his cool on the outside, saying encouraging things to you the entire time, and lets you squeeze his hand as hard as you can

– “You can do this, {Y/N}! Focus! Push that little sucker out!”

– With your husband’s encouragement, your labor (mercifully) goes quickly, and within four pushes they’re out! Tatsu comforts you with kind words, shaking with anxiety and adrenaline as he sees your baby for the first time

– Tatsu stands over each medical personnel to make damn sure they’re being sanitary as they pass the baby around, finally handing them back to you. Tatsu allows himself to smile, seeing your happy tears and the cries of your child–he would have never in a million years expected this sweet scene to involve someone like him

– “Aww, Tatsu, you’re crying!”

– “No I ain’t! It’s just the lighting!”

–can you say GIRL DAD?!!! Tatsu sobbed when they said your baby was a girl. He’s so excited to do dress up and have tea parties and tutus and worry about her every second of every day…very excited. (Secretly, this is because he thinks a girl would be more like you than him. He’d rather have a mini you than a mini him)

–You wanted a pretty name, but not something overused; Tatsu said no daughter of yours was going to have a typical “scrub name,” so you go with the cute but not common Shiori. Tatsu nicknamed her his little dragon immediately

–When you go home with your little girl, Tatsu is fretting about EVERYTHING. The man has prepared for things you never would have thought of, but he knows that babies always surprise their parents, and that makes him nervous. He never takes his eyes off Shiori, overreading into every little thing she does as a possible sickness or issue

–Tatsu will absolutely wait on you hand and foot. He does that anyway, but now it’s x50. He will prepare bottles, get diapers ready, clean puke stains, and in between that, will give you massages, make your favorite foods, bring you snacks, tea. He will literally wash your hair for you if you ask.

–you need a break from breastfeeding and sitting in bed all day? Tatsu is already ready with a spa day coupon for you. He can’t imagine how hard it is on your body as well as your mind, being a new mother, and whatever you need to do to feel your best, Tatsu is your number one supporter

– “If my beautiful wife needs a break from nurturing our daughter, you bet yer ass she’s gonna get it! Here’s a 30% coupon. I got it from a tomato growing contest.”

–Endless picture taking! When he isn’t worrying or rushing around trying to make things easier for you and your little dragon, he is filling his camera roll with adorable pictures of Shiori. And his beautiful wife, ofc. The last 500 pics on his phone are of you, Shiori, and quite a bit of selfies with him and his little girl. And it’s only been one week

–Tatsu’s heart is overflowing with love upon becoming a dad, filling your head with deep appreciation and revere for allowing him to pass this milestone with you. He quickly becomes the most popular dad on the block, admired and respected by everyone for his loud, but gentle parenting

🐅𝒯𝑜𝓇𝒶𝒿𝒾𝓇𝑜🍰

–Tora is constantly checking his phone, always on edge that you might suddenly go into labor. One day when he’s at the crepe truck at three in the afternoon, he’s in the middle of whipping up a crepe when you text him SOS,BB OTW! He has never dropped a crepe so fast

–He meets you at the hospital, breathless and yelling for someone to tell him where his wife is. Tora sprints into your room all dramatic like, rushing to your side with immediate worries and demands to know what’s going on

–Tora hates seeing you in pain, which makes it hard for him to watch you in labor. He knows you’re doing it to bring life into the world, life he helped create, but it hurts him to see you yelling and crying in agony. He’ll do his best to encourage you, trying to hype you up for that last push

–He is more focused on you when the baby actually comes out, constantly asking if you’re okay, if you need anything, etc. Then when they push the baby at you guys he’s like “??? Oh, yeah!”

–Much like Tatsu, I think Tora is such a girl dad!!! She would be his angel from the first moment you place her in his big hands. He is her protector, her tiger. Speaking of tigers…

– “How bout we name her Tigress? You know, from Kung Fu Panda? What a boss!”

– “Tora…no.”

– Neither of you want a traditional Japanese name; you settle on Sakima, which means ‘warrior queen.’ Enough flare for Tora, enough uniqueness for you. Her nickname quickly becomes Kima the Killer, courtesy of her father

–Tora does not like random people handling his daughter, even if they are “medical personnel.” He glares at everyone, always asks questions on what they’re doing and why they’re doing it. You have to cool him off sometimes, reassuring your husband that they’re just making sure Sakima is healthy

–Back at home, Tora loosens up a bit. He smiles big smiles, slows himself down and really admires his little girl, staring at and watching her for hours on end. It’s a softer side to Tora no one else usually sees. Feels so relaxed around his little killer who loves tickles and kisses

–Absolutely sends a million pics of him and his daughter to Tatsu, bragging like you wouldn’t believe. Not that you can blame him, Kima is very cute, and already has her father’s intense gold eyes that demand respect

–Tora will take on any challenge brought to him, which includes dirty diapers, spit, puke, snot, spilled milk, anything, and he won’t complain at all, not even silently. Nothing compares to blood and guts anyway

– “It’s an honor to serve my family and get my hands dirty!”

–He is always the one to get up in the middle of the night if Kima cries. In his eyes, you’re already doing so much, have already DONE so much, giving birth and all, Tora won’t let you lift a finger. His wonderful wife is gonna get her beauty rest and not have to worry about a thing

-Tora loves being a bad ass dad and strolling around the neighborhood with his adorable little baby girl and his hot wife, whom he vows to protect with his life. Insert DILF era!

🐕ℳ𝒶𝓈𝒶🥡

–you go into labor in the middle of the night, and it takes you a good five minutes to wake Masa up. Dude can sleep forever, so you pinch his side hard to get him alert. When you do, he still needs to be told several times that you’re going into labor before his brain catches up

– “You’re…huh? Labor? You mean, like…the thing that…you know…really?!”

– Calls Tatsu on the way to the hospital in a panic, having forgotten everything he should do to ease your anxiety. Tatsu talks him through it, but it’s pretty clear that Masa is panicking just as much as you are. Luckily the nurses at the hospital know what they’re doing

–Masa tries to be brave and goes into the delivery room with you. He really doesn’t think it’s a good idea, but the boss said he’s gotta do it, so here he is. Poor boy tries hard to be supportive, but his ramblings only make you more anxious because you can tell HE’S nervous

–as soon as he sees the baby’s head popping out…yeah, he passes out cold, lol. Gory yakuza movies are great, but this kind of explicit imagery is too much for his manly brain to handle. Sorry, but you’re on your own now, kid, lmao

–Tatsu wakes Masa up and waits for everything to be cleaned up before bringing him back in. Masa is scared shitless, eyes wide, hands shaking as he approaches you and your newborn; but the second he sees your tearful smile at him, all his panic drifts away

– “Woah! We really made this thing? Dope! …Huh…it’s kinda ugly, isn’t it? Why does it look like that?”

– It takes some convincing, because Masa is afraid he’ll drop your baby, but you do get him to hold it, and a genuinely excited smile finally comes through. He’s in disbelief about being a dad until he holds the baby in his own arms, amazed at the lively little thing squirming about

–I can see Masa as being a boy dad. He’d be so stoked to have a mini man, would probably try to name it something like Kazuma, Yami, Link, anything from a video game he loves. You would compromise and go with Shinji, a nice name that can also be connected to several games and anime

–Masa feels clueless when you take your son home, anxious about everything you have to do right away…he spends most of his time just staring at the little guy, though, overwhelmed with awe that you two created this. It blows his mind, and he has no idea where to begin

– “So like, what do babies eat? I’ve got like, ten yen…maybe we can get them something small from the convenience store?”

– “Babies drink breast milk for the first year of their lives, Masa.”

– *Masa malfunction*

–For probably the first time in his life, Masa becomes focused, worried that he’s doing everything wrong when really, he’s doing a great job trying to keep up with your newborn. He’s doing his best, and that’s all you could ever ask for; the bags under his eyes prove it

–brags endlessly about his baby boy! He’s YouTube and Instagram famous already. Masa wants to set Shinji up for success and fame

–Although he might whine on the inside, he’ll clean diapers, wipe boogers, clean up puke, get up during the middle of the night, whatever! Masa wants to be as good a father as Tatsu says he can be. Whatever you ask him to do, he’ll do it, even if he feels like he isn’t doing things good enough

– Babies fascinate Masa, lol, and his son is especially interesting to him. He gets so excited whenever Shinji makes a new noise, or a new movement, or just does humanly things in general. He becomes convinced that Shinji’s quick fingers mean he’ll be a great video game player one day

– Speaking of video games, Masa sets his baby son down on the couch with him as he plays, explaining the lore in details a newborn could never understand. He claims Shinji is his good luck charm, and frequently casts a look down at his son to ensure he’s okay. You think it’s cute when you find Masa and Shinji asleep on the couch after completing a hard level together, your two silly boys the best of friends already

–Like Tora, Masa loves showing his baby off, feeling like a real adult when he whips out pictures of Shinji at his first photoshoot; really, it isn’t pride he’s feeling, but just pure, unfiltered happiness he wants to spread to everyone he meets. Masa might worry a lot about his parenting skills, but with you there to help, he thinks he might turn out to be a great dad

You didn’t like being called a “fighter.” The meaning of that word could mean two entirely different things. It could range from being someone who was “admirable” and “resilient,” someone who wouldn’t be deterred. It could also mean someone who was “combatant” and “difficult,” someone who only caused trouble for others. 

A good part of your life consisted of you being defined by the latter. You were a good student, smart and respectful. The only thing is that you fought a lot during your years in middle and high school. It wasn’t your fault, really; others would antagonize you, hoping to get a rise out of you. And -- to their credit -- they often did get a rise out of you, along with a broken nose. You didn’t like fighting, but you also didn’t like being ridiculed by your peers, especially considering how poorly they did in school. 

In the end, you ended up being the one walking out of your school with a degree while they were expelled and forced to finish school elsewhere, assuming they were even taken in. 

You were by no means a professional-level boxer or wrestler, but you put up a damn good fight when needed. That’s partly why you were about to leave the small street fight you walked by alone. Just outside of the grocery store where you had just gotten your food for the week, you saw a fight starting to brew. 

There was a scrawny blonde guy -- who was actually not that bad looking -- wearing a patterned shirt and blue jeans being yelled at and pushed around by a group of four or so men. Trying to get past them, you walked behind the blonde guy at just the wrong time as one of the men pushed him backwards again, knocking into you and spilling your groceries on the ground.

The blonde guy turned to look at you, but you kept your eyes fixed on the ground and watched the milk from the carton spill onto the street. With balled fists and a clenched jaw you asked,

“Who just shoved him?”

“What’s it matter to you?” One of the guys asked. You turned your head to look at the others and that’s when the blonde pointed at the guy with jet black hair and black suit. 

You shoved past the blonde and walked up to the brunette asshole. He put his hands up to grab you, but you pushed his hands down and away before punching him square in the nose. He backed away with a groan with his hands over his, now broken, nose. Your fingers slipped through blackness as you grabbed him by his hair and dragged him over to your spoiled groceries. Pointing, you shouted:

“THAT’S WHAT IT FUCKING MATTERS TO ME!” You threw him to the ground and into the milk. “Making me waste my money and shit. You ought to pay me back for that.”

You felt the blonde panically pat your back and cry when you noticed the other three now encroaching on you two. You clicked your tongue in annoyance.

“One of you gonna pay me for my groceries? I have the receipt right here,” You said, dangling the receipt in your hand. The shaved head guy glared at you two and crossed his arms over his chest.

“Get ‘em.” 

The blonde yelped as you pushed him out of your way. It’s during that movement that you used his body as cover to position a punch at one of the guys stomach. As predicted, one of them tried to hit you in the face. You ducked down and punched him in the stomach before hooking a foot behind his knee and pulling him forward, causing him to fall backwards. You didn’t mind the other guy as he seemed more focused with the blonde. 

The last guy charged at you and pushed you on your back to the ground with him on top. You blocked a few hits to your face with your arms before wrapping your legs around him and flipping him underneath you. From there, you grabbed him by his collar and headbut him in the face til it was nothing but a bloody mess. 

“Help-” The blonde shouted, “Help me-PLEASE!”

You rolled your eyes before getting up and pulling the two apart and kicking the other guy to the ground. You stared at the guy on the ground before looking back up at the blonde.

“Well?” You asked, “Get him.”

The blonde frantically looked at you then back down at the guy who was getting up. Quickly, the blonde began kicking him over and over again. You looked away in favor of collecting your groceries that were still good, hoping that none of that asshole’s blood had gotten on any of it. 

Once collected, you stood up and saw that he was still kicking the other guy. You placed a hand on the blonde’s shoulder and he looked over panicked.

“I think that’s enough,” You said, slinging your bags higher on your arms, “You don’t want to kill now do you?”

The blonde shook his head ‘no’ with his mouth slightly ajar. 

“Thank you,” He said, taking your hand and shaking it. You groaned while pulling your hand away due to a dull ache in your knuckles.

“I didn’t do it for you,” You said while rubbing the cuts on your right knuckles, “Asshole spilled my groceries. Speaking of which…” You trailed off while bending down and digging around the first guy's pockets. You stopped once you found his wallet. You pulled all his cash out of it before dropping the wallet on him. 

“Eh, it’ll cover what he ruined,” You mumbled with a shrug while carding through the bills. 

You started walking back into the store when the blonde began to trail you, making you stop.

“I’m-I’m Masa,” He said nervously, once again holding your hand in his own hand, “If there's anything I can do to repay you, anything at all, just let m…” 

You ignored most of his rambling, instead focusing on his face. He was rather beautiful with a sharp jaw, dark-almost black eyes, and bleach blonde hair. And yet he had his very own uniqueness when it came to his finer features, such as the shape of his eyebrows and the point of his nose. 

Masa fell silent when you slipped your hand from his and grabbed his face, turning his head to the left and then right. 

While examining his face earlier, you noticed a few deeper cuts on his eyebrow and cheek. 

“What a shame,” You mumbled while inspecting his face further, “You have such a pretty face, it’s a shame you went and got it busted up.”

Masa grew flustered at that and tried to pull his face away, but your grip was firm.

“I-ha, um…thank you?” He muttered, his hands reaching up to caress yours and pull your fingers away. You let him. 

“Why don’t you come to the store with me? I have to get some band-aids anyway; that first fucker had some sharp teeth.” You asked while inspecting the cuts on your knuckles. 

“Uh,” Masa stutters, fingers massaging your palm still in his hands, “Sure. I’m not doing anything.”

You flip your hand in his and grab his hand.

“Alright, let’s go.” You said while walking back into the store.

While in there, you question Masa on why he was in a fight with those idiots. He explained that one of them had bumped into him and he mouthed off to one of them. Things escalated, a fight started and for a moment one of his friends -- whose name is “Tatsu” -- walked by, but while trying to convince him to fight off the group of guys, he just slapped Masa and walked away. 

“Shitty friend,” You said, placing a pack of band-aids in your basket. 

“He’s not a shitty friend!” Masa shouted, “He just wanted me to fight my own fight.”

“Can you fight?” You asked.

“Of course I can fight,” Masa answered, puffing out his chest and flexing his arms at you. You raised an eyebrow at him. 

“Why didn’t you then?” You asked. He deflated at that.

“Well-You see…um,” Masa stuttered, looking away from you.

“Do you even know how to throw a punch?” 

“Yes! Why wouldn’t I??”

“Well, based on your hands alone,” You started while grabbing one of his hands, “You don’t fight much, if at all.” You ran your thumb over his knuckles, noting their scarless complexion. He pulled his hand away, almost offended.

“What do you mean by that?” Masa asked pointedly.

“Relax,” You said, waving your hand dismissively, “There’s nothing wrong with that. You just have too nice of hands to be someone who gets into fights a lot. You should be happy about that; You have very nice hands.” 

Masa looked down at his hands while flipping them over to inspect them.

“They’re nicer than mine,” You murmur, subconsciously rubbing over your own hands. Masa looks up and holds out a hand for you to put yours into and you do.

He holds your hand gently, inspecting every little inch of skin and you can’t help but feel a little flustered at all the attention. Warm fingers run over the lines and creases of your palm and the soft pads of fingers ghost over the numerous scars and bruises that line your knuckles and fingers.

“What happened?” Masa asked and looked up at you for an answer, but you didn’t want to meet his eyes.

“I get into fights a lot,” You said, shifting your stance, “I don’t mean to, I just get angry sometimes and people like to push me -- get a rise out of me.” You pull your hands away.

“I’m not too proud of them to be honest,” You admitted while walking over to the checkout area, “My parents never liked it when I fought with the other kids, but I also never liked getting insulted.” 

“I think they’re badass,” Masa said with a smile, “Shows that you can take care of yourself; beat up anyone who gets in your way.” 

You chuckled low in your throat at his theatrics.

“I guess,” You smiled.

“590 Yen please,” The cashier said. You pulled out your wallet.

“Most guys and gals don’t care for them,” You said, handing the money over to the woman, “Gives off the impressions of being combative.”

“Well, I like them,” Masa remarked and walked with you out of the store.

“Makes one of us,” You comment while looking around outside, “Looks like they left.” 

You move to sit on the curb next to the building with Masa following soon after. You pulled out the band-aids and gauze out of the bag and opened one up. Masa lets you grab his face again and place two band-aids on his cheek.

“Close your eyes,” You demanded, “You need one on your eyebrow.” 

Masa did as told and you quickly placed a band-aid over his oddly-shaped eyebrow.

“There. All better,” You said while smoothing down the band-aids on his cheek with your thumb. 

“Thank you,” Masa mumbled gratefully.

You hummed, placed the band-aids aside and began unrolling the gauze. You wrapped your right hand up with the gauze and secured it, flexing your fingers to test the stability of it. 

“And, um, thank you again for helping me with those other guys,” Masa added, fiddling with his fingers, not looking at you. 

“Like I said,” You clenched your jaw, “I didn’t do it for you.”

You glanced over and sighed.

“Although,” You began with a small smile, grabbing his attention, “I’ve always liked blondes.”

Masa’s face flushed, a beautiful light pink dusting his cheeks, nose, and ears, as he stuttered. 

“Well-I-uh…haha-” You smiled wider. 

“Are you shy?” You asked.

“I’m-No, not at all!” He quickly rebuttals, but he sounds unsure himself.

“Are you sure?” You prodded further and listened to him try to convince you otherwise. Not really expecting a cohesive response. 

“Well, whatever,” You said while standing, “I guess I didn’t mind beating up those shitstains if it meant I got to meet such a sweetheart like you.” 

You cupped the top of his head in your hand, blonde locks slipping in between your fingers, and pressed a kiss to his forehead. You ruffled his hair as you pulled away and began to walk home. 

“Here, you can keep the band-aids,” You said while throwing the box to him. To his credit, he caught it while trying to say something.

“What’s-What’s your name?” Masa finally asked. You paused, looking behind at him. 

“Y/N,” You answered before continuing on your way, “You should call me.”

“Huh?” He asked looking up from the box, but you had turned the corner and were gone.

– As seen in the manga, Tatsu has all the remedies for a cold on hand. He’ll ask you 30+ questions about each symptom you’re experiencing, and from there will decide which home remedies can help you feel better. If you live through the initial interrogation, I’m sure they’ll prove useful

– Tatsu definitely hides his fears by doing anything and everything possible to help you. He won’t sit still for even a moment, constantly making food or cleaning or checking on you; anything to avoid negative thoughts, like what if it isn’t just a cold, what if it’s something worse, what if it’s just a symptom of a far worse disease or illness?

– He absolutely cannot stand the thought of losing you, so Tatsu tends to be a bit dramatic when you’re sick. No moving, no eating or drinking whilst unsupervised, no medicines unless they’re okayed by him. You abide by these rules simply because you’re too tired to fight, and Tatsu knows a lot more about illnesses than you (or he’s just done more online research than you, lol)

– Beneath his intense, doctor-like attitude, Tatsu is actually very gentle with you. He’ll put on gloves and hold the tissue as you blow your nose, he’ll hold your water bottle to your lips and slowly tip it, he’ll put your blankets in the drier just to make them warm when you cuddle up in them

– “There ya are, little dragon…some nice, clean sheets for ya. And don’t even think about gettin’ up to get yer own tea–I’ll be back faster than you can say ‘limited time lettuce sale.’”

– none of the housework matters when his baby is sick. Unless dust or dirt is causing your issue, Tatsu will gladly get behind on his housework to take care of you, whether it’s getting you clean tissues, running out to get medicine or simply just sitting beside you, nervously watching over you and making sure you’re comfortable

– just imagining Tatsu giving you such a concerned, heartfelt look when you’re sick makes my heart ache ugh

– Although you’re achy and have a headache and just plain miserable from your cold, you perk up when Tatsu makes you homemade chicken soup. He smiles when he sees you enjoying his creation, sniffling as you thank him for the warm meal. Tatsu is always relieved when he can help eliminate your discomfort

– He won’t want to get too close when you have a cold, but if he has a mask handy he won’t mind hanging out with you for a while, silently wondering how you can possibly look so adorable even when your eyes are red and glossy, when your nose is runny and sticky…it only encourages him to do more for you, so Tatsu can see you thriving once more

– will distract you by telling you all the fun things he has planned for you two when you feel better; then Tatsu will turn on your favorite soap opera and watch with you (he watches it in secret, so he actually knows all the current plot lines, but still pretends to be shocked)

– Tatsu doesn’t mess around when you’re sick, and he’s the first to suggest you see a doctor when the cold doesn’t go away after a week; he’ll drag you there if need be, and writes down every single word the doctor says. He’ll even go so far as to mix your icky tasting medicine with something delicious–as long as it helps you feel better, Tatsu will go above and beyond

– trust me, you want this man around if you’re sick💓

🐅𝒯𝑜𝓇𝒶𝒿𝒾𝓇𝑜🍰

– You tried to throw up quietly, but Tora has the hearing of a paranoid tiger, so there was no hiding your illness from him, to his concern and rage

– “Yer sick?! Who was it, {Y/N}?! Tell me who got ya sick! I’ll let em have it! I’ll let em know what it’s really like to be sick!”

– Tora remembers what his mother used to do for him when he caught the flu as a child, falling back on those blurry memories now; he rolls your shivering body into his thickest quilt, fixes you  umeboshi plum tea, puts an ice pack on your forehead and uses his huge hands to gently rub your upset tummy

– You worry about missing work, and about Tora not opening the crepe truck so he can take care of you, worries immediately shut down by Torajiro, who doesn’t want you worrying about anything other than getting better. He assures you with absolute certainty that missing a few days, or even a week of work isn’t the end of the world. Tora is convincing enough that the thought thankfully exits your brain after a few tiresome hours of anxiety and guilt

– Endless vomit? Tora is right beside you, holding your hair back and comforting you in a low, soothing tone, hiding how upset he is at your discomfort. He really hates seeing you in misery, vowing to be there until you’re 100% better. Tora’s scrunched, worried expression is really cute, so that helps you forget your embarrassment for a moment

– Knowing you love classical music, he’ll put on one of your favorite classical records, hoping it lures you into a much-needed slumber. If it doesn’t, he’ll still lie beside you on the couch and hum along to the song to keep you company. Sometimes, you’ll feel his rough fingers stroke your hair away from your sweaty temples

– Tora has a strong immune system, so he isn’t afraid of catching anything from you, ignoring your warnings. He’ll kiss your head, pull your shivering form against him to get you warm, trap you inside his big arms for hours until you have to throw up again

–Tatsu may have the best chicken soup recipe, but Tora’s okayu (Japanese rice porridge) is a force to be reckoned with. He’ll insist he feed you himself, encouraging you to eat even though you’re not hungry. “Tigers gotta keep up their strength” and all. If you refuse, Tora will give you a big wide eyed look until you cave and eat a few big bites of porridge

– Through the terrible nights of restless sleep, aches and painful vomiting, Tora is always alert, jumping to your side even when he should be resting himself. You feel bad for waking him up frequently, but he assures you it’s no problem. He knows what it’s like to be alone and sick, and never wants you to feel scared in case things take a turn for the worse

– Tora doesn’t like doctors himself, but if you’re the one who’s sick, you better believe he’ll drag you to the clinic if you haven’t gotten better after a few days. – Since Masa doesn’t work, he can stay home with you all day! Idk if this is a good thing, though, because Masa is very child-like himself, so it’s like being sick while looking after a toddler who’s trying to help you with their fake stethoscope

– You’ve got a runny nose, headache, plugged sinuses, sore throat and watery eyes, which Masa deduces from the symptom list Tatsu gave him that you have a cold. He’s had plenty of those before, but doesn’t exactly know how to care for someone with one; Masa usually just suffers until the virus eventually works its way out of his system

– Probably panics at first, because wtf does he know about medicine and illness?? What if he gives you the wrong thing and accidentally kills you? Masa will never be able to live with himself if he makes your cold worse because he’s an idiot

– Masa cares for you and he wants to help, though, so he goes to Google for advice. He doesn’t really know why sue-duh-fedd, ben’s a-drill and a face steamer will help, but if that’s what the guys on Reddit say, what could possibly go wrong? Reddit guys have helped him loads of times before…their advice is like a doctor’s advice to him

– Masa uses your card to buy a random assortment of medicines and machines that may help relieve your agony, rushing back and showing you each item, suggesting you try the face steamer first, because he thinks it’s the coolest. It does actually help you feel a bit better, even if it doesn’t really have any medical purpose, which boosts Masa’s confidence in himself

– “That’s why on the streets they call me The Doc.”

– With your nasally instructions, Masa is able to make you some black tea, and he takes it upon himself to make you ramen. Obviously you aren’t up to eating ramen, but Masa solves this by eating the noodles and leaving you the broth, which soothes your stinging throat. Hey, sometimes he’s a genius!

– Masa is oblivious to how he’s getting germs all over himself in the process of taking care of you, grabbing your dirty tissues, touching his face after touching yours, drinking out of your waterbottle for goodness sake…he claims he’s untouchable because he’s been drinking protein shakes like there’s no tomorrow

– the boy will literally try to kiss you full on the lips to “cure you.” dumbass. At least he’s a lovable dumbass

– Masa knows he’s lousy at taking care of people (and the house, and himself), but he really does want to relieve your suffering. He’ll shove all sorts of medicines down your throat in hopes it will magically cure your stuffy nose. He’ll listen to whatever the Redditers tell him, and definitely tries to get you to attempt their bizarre and just plain silly remedies

– “Okay babe, now b00bMILF3r says to stick one finger in your ear, then hold your breath while drinking water with cayenne pepper in it!”

– When you become tired from these odd suggestions, Masa will get quiet and sit beside where you’re lying on the couch and slowly run a hand over your leg in comfort. He may sneak a video game in or two, but he’ll constantly be glancing over at you to see if you’re okay, and he’ll keep his cheers down to a minimum

– he cringes everytime you blow your nose, but always gets you a new box when you run out, Googling every few minutes to check if someone came up with a cure for the common cold. Masa is upset when they haven’t, and wonders if it’s too late for him to become a scientist. You’re touched by his sudden ambitions, but think he should just stick to being morally supportive

– You’ll probably both end up being sick by the end of the week, lol, but at least then you can bum around in bed together and watch fun videos online to pass the time until you feel better

–Tatsu already does the cooking, cleaning, housework, but during your pregnancy his workload somehow triples. He literally invents new things to clean, and why he has to clean them for your health

– “Do ya have any idea what dust can do to a fetus? Do ya?! The damage is irreversible!”

–“I’m pretty sure you just made that up, Tatsu.”

– “Did not! Now move outta the way so I can take on those germs!”

–will stop whatever he’s doing to make you whatever it is you’re craving; doesn’t matter if it’s a five minute recipe or a five hour recipe. Whatever you want, babe. And if you’re feeling insecure about your growing body, Tatsu will be the first to shut those feelings down. He knows it isn’t that easy, but no wife of his will be moping around feeling bad about herself

–While Tatsu is usually vocal about his worries, he tends to become quiet during your pregnancy, not voicing his concerns because he doesn’t want to make you anxious. He knows it’s hard enough being pregnant and dealing with hormones…the last thing Tatsu wants to do is stress you out

–really, though, Tatsu is such a worry wart. Always so concerned when you go outside, concerned when you’re moving around too much, concerned if you don’t want to eat or aren’t drinking enough. It’s touching, but sometimes gets on your nerves a bit

–in addition to worrying about you, he also worries about the baby. He hides this anxiety by talking to your stomach every night, speaking a way that reassures both the baby and himself

– “Don’t you worry there, little dragon…mama and papa are takin’ real good care of ya. And we always will. Little dragons never have to fly alone.”

–massages! Tatsu attends a class where he learned what exact places ache the most during pregnancy, and he’ll massage your troubles away every single night

–Tatsu is insanely protective anyway, but when you’re pregnant? Omg. Unless you’re at work, he does not let you out of sight. Even then, he sometimes spies on you from outside, and acts as an unofficial security guard for your building

–fortunately and unfortunately, Tatsu is a stickler for budgets, so you can’t go all out on adorable baby clothes and accessories. You wore him down about the dragon-themed crib, though. And the dragon themed crib mobile. But after that, he cut you off, already having prepared an itemized statement of what you guys needed to save for come delivery day

–at the end of each day, Tatsu likes to spoon you in bed with a hand on your stomach. Occasionally you’ll hear him whisper promises of protection, how he can’t wait to meet your little dragon and help them navigate life. He often falls asleep like that, and has worry-free dreams about how life will change once you give birth

–for now, Tatsu is happy to just experience the lows and highs of pregnancy with you, reading up on anything that can make it easier for his beloved S/O

–ohhhh man. If you thought Tatsu was overprotective, wait till you get a load of Tora.

–you go NOWHERE alone. Not happening. Shopping, work, walking, going to the laundromat, Tora is right at your side, glaring at anyone that looks or speaks to you. He is not risking anything…not after he finally has a normal life, with a normal wife and normal child on the way. Nothing will hurt you, ever.

–since Tora doesn’t think he’s naturally comforting or domestic, he borrows a lot of books from Tatsu on how to be a good parent. He did something similar when you two started dating, but now, he feels an immense amount of pressure to be a perfect dad. There’s literally a stack of parenting books at his nightstand, and he reads them with his glasses on like an old man

–weirdly, Tora’s emotions also mellow out a lot during your pregnancy. Instead of being his usual spirited, loud and obsessively passionate self, he does his best to be level headed and speak evenly. He doesn’t want anything to upset you, and doesn’t want to upset you further when you’re already in a bad mood. Tora keeps his cool so you don’t have to. Scream away!

–of course you can wear his clothes when you’re pregnant! Tora will be the first to suggest it after your own clothes are too itchy or too tight. His big shirts comfort you, and he loves seeing you wearing them, especially with your little round stomach beneath it. Makes him feel like he is capable of supporting you by giving you the shirt off his back

–Tora knows what a budget is…he just doesn’t care! When you go shopping for baby things, Tora goes all out. If he sees anything tiger themed, forget about it–he’ll fight any mother around for the correct size. Tiger themed pants, pajamas, socks, bibs, shoes, everything. He’ll take the lot, and he doesn’t care how much it costs!

– “Your total is 43,000 yen.”

– “43,000 yen?! Here’s a coupon I got from a guy I know. That’ll help with the monthly payments, right?”

–This applies to you as well. You’re craving Indian food? Done. You want a foot bath machine? Here you go. Tora read about how uncomfortable pregnancy can be, and if there’s something that can alleviate your annoyance, consider it done. Even if that annoyance is him, lol…he’ll take himself out STAT

–Tora won’t try to be intimate with you during your pregnancy. If you initiate it, sure, but even if he’s so horny he can barely stand, he isn’t going to come onto you. To him, it was disrespectful to ask that of his wife when she was busy carrying their child–and you know how Tora feels about disrespect. He is the last person in the world who wants to disrespect you by annoyingly asking for sex all the time

–treat maker!!!! Will make you any sweet treat you want, and will let you eat it down to the last crumb. He is keeping an eye out for gestational diabetes, though.

–On slow evenings or afternoons, Tora finds himself just staring at you, wondering how this is all possible. It was almost inconceivable to him, that you chose him, that you chose to carry his child; and he’ll tell you all about how thankful he is, how beautiful you are during your pregnancy, even if you don’t agree. Tora won’t accept your insecurity, and showers you with affectionate talk and compliments that make you blush

– “Trust me, { Y/N }, the only way our baby is gonna be cute is if they look like you! A lil tiger with big brown eyes…and claws!”

–ngl, you being pregnant would almost be as rough on Masa as it was on you. Dude is so unprepared for the mood swings, sickness, cravings, anxiety, everything. He has no idea what he’s doing, but he tries his best

–Masa is always startled by your outbursts and little annoyances. He doesn’t get how something that never used to bother you before could bother you now; he learns his lessons, though, and next time he won’t bring tuna home for dinner, because yikes! You did NOT like that one bit

–Unfortunately Masa doesn’t have a strong stomach, and if you’re vomiting, he won’t be able to hold your hair back or anything. When you’re done, though, he’ll bring you some water and tuck you into bed, putting on your favorite reality tv show. But if chunks are flying, he’ll be flying out the front door

–forgets to read the books Tatsu borrowed him, so has no idea about any of your pregnancy symptoms. Hot flashes? Food cravings? Sudden fatigue? Leg cramps? These things baffle him, and you have to very patiently explain it to him when they happen. Then he is very understanding and will try to help

–often forgets that you’re pregnant. Which is weird, considering you waddle instead of walk, and your stomach is three times the size it normally is. Masa will suggest you go ice skating, or roller blading, and you’re sitting there with a bowl balancing on your stomach like ???? He can be clueless, but always finds something you can both do safely. Like video games, and more video games.

–Masa can’t cook, but he gets very good at picking out foods from the convenience store that you like. He grins proudly when you surprisingly like the Hokkaido Potato Beef Croquette and Raisin Butter Biscuit Sandwich combo, glad he did something right. You’ll need to be the one who monitors your sugar intake, though, cuz Masa would let you eat sweet treats all day long

–seriously, this boy won’t deny you ANYTHING. He literally can’t disappoint his pregnant wife. It would kill him. Doesn’t have enough money for the fancy pillow you want? He’ll steal it. The last pair of pink baby shoes was taken? He’ll snatch it from the lady’s cart. No matter if it puts him in debt or gets his ass kicked, Masa will make it happen

– “No, really, {Y/N}, I have no idea why that guy’s banging on our door at two a.m.! He must have the wrong address! I didn’t borrow any money from him for that neck massager, I swear!”

–Masa tries really hard to hold down a job during your pregnancy. Usually you’re the breadwinner, but he did listen to Tatsu when the boss told him to do everything he could to take the stress of responsibility off you. Although he hates his job, Masa would never let you know it; he’ll come home with a smile and fake cheerfulness, happy to see you and your unborn child after a long, tiring day

–one thing Masa is naturally good at is calming you down. If you get into one of your annoyed pregnancy moods, Masa can always make you smile again, whether it be through sweet words or silly actions. One second you’re screaming into your pillow with uncontrollable, random rage, and the next you’re giggling at Masa using his dirty socks as puppets with a dramatic storyline

–the baby moving inside you actually freaks Masa out. You have to forcibly hold his hand on your stomach so he can feel the baby kicking, and even then, he has a weirded out expression on his face. Eventually, though, Masa gets used to all the strange pregnancy happenings, and is constantly touching your stomach, even offering complete strangers the chance to feel your baby kicking, which you do not appreciate.

–he is confused at how much baby clothes you guys need. There are different sizes for different times? Why do babies grow so fast? Do you really need a crib, or can the baby just sleep on the couch? Masa learns a lot about babies, and the boatloads of information blow his mind

–it is inconceivable to Masa that you feel insecure about your appearance during your pregnancy. You, the most beautiful and perfect person he had ever seen, feeling bad about yourself? No. Masa will ramble on and on about how your swollen stomach and big thighs only make you look more gorgeous. One thing he will not tolerate is you speaking badly about your appearance when your body is literally so incredible that it’s able to create and carry a whole ass baby while looking drop dead beautiful

–when you put him in charge of buying you maternity clothes (you can’t wear his clothes, because he’s smaller than you), Masa takes it very seriously. Despite his seriousness, he comes back with Zebra striped sweats, cheetah print tees and even a fake gold chain that says MOMMA on it. Wild, yes. Also very comfortable.

–Masa is his usual affectionate self with you, even more so in public, his way of being protective by showing everyone how close you two are. He tends to overdo it, but is quick to dial it back if you get annoyed at his PDA. Masa does initiate sex once in a while, but he won’t push it if you’re not in the mood, happy to return to his regularly scheduled program of cuddling on the couch together, humming some obnoxious pop song to your stomach (and to you)

-he doesn’t realize that he’s stopped walking, and what else can you do but stare back at him, trying to decode that mesmerized, dreamy look in his eyes? nothing in particular prompted this urge, just you being you, maybe the sunset’s glow making you look even more like an angel than usual

-the man keeps boundaries at all times, and even before he leans a little closer, Tatsu asks if it’s okay. the last thing he wants to do is make an unwanted advance and have you hate him forever

- “This alright?” Tatsu asked with only a smidgen of fear in his voice. yakuza fights, getting yelled at by the boss man, fighting for sale items is nothing compared to this moment, and he’s secretly terrified

-you give him the okay immediately, but Tatsu still moves slowly, giving you several chances to change your mind. he knows he can be a bit intimidating at times, but is happy when you don’t seem to be afraid

-after what seems like an eternal moment of waiting, Tatsu’s lips finally meet yours, and it’s as sweet and gentle as you expected it to be. he doesn’t fully press your lips together until he’s certain you won’t shove him away

-Tatsu exhales the breath he had been holding and presses just a little more into the kiss, enough where you can feel his facial hair graze over your skin; you don’t mind. you’ve been waiting a long time to figure out what Tatsu’s flesh felt like against yours

-your movements are slow and memorable, even when you both suddenly remember you’re still in public, but the perks of kissing a former yakuza is that you know damn well none of them would say anything about what they saw, or risk being reprimanded by Tatsu about social etiquette

-after several blocks you two find a public park with trees that are full enough to shield some of the cold raindrops. Tora gently pulls you into the park, your laughter dying off as you both stare at the street, watching the rain continue to pour down. it was at this moment Torajiro looked down at where you were dripping wet in his jacket and felt the need to kiss you

-Tora Tora Tora...he’s been waiting to kiss you for a while, now, fighting the urge until the time was right, until he was sure you actually wanted to kiss him back. there were a few times he thought you were going to initiate it, but you chickened out, and certainly weren’t thinking about it tonight as you shivered and wondered when the sky would stop looking so stormy and gray

- Tora swallowed nervously, feeling a chill unrelated to the cold rain dribbling down his bare arms, and his nerves only increased when you suddenly gazed up at him with a smile so bright it made the gloomy scene look a thousand times less dreary. why did you seem so happy? he wasn’t sure, but knew he needed to make this perfect moment even more perfect for the both of you

- “Can I kiss you?!” Torajiro blurted out like an idiot. not so perfect after all, but imagine his shock when you said yes

-not wanting to hesitate or procrastinate any longer than he already had, Tora grabbed your face and tugged towards his chest; he swept down to kiss you, but realized with horror that he might have startled you, a fear that was quickly put to rest by you pressing your lips together

-your first kiss with Tora was pretty passionate from the get-go, neither of you caring if anyone saw you two. all Tora cared about was your lips moving together, undeterred by droplets of rain sneaking their way into your kiss

-one of Tora’s large hands moved away from your face to your back, weaving around to ensure that this was real, not another one of his crazy daydreams--this was a million times better than any lame fantasy he could put together. a first kiss in the rain, standing within a beautiful park? fuck yeah, romance

-Masa’s smile faded when he suddenly saw your hands reach out and grab onto the collar of his shirt, yanking him forward. the boy honestly thought he was about to get a beatdown, the “tough love” method that Tatsu used to teach him a lesson, but what he got was the exact opposite

-your lips smashed against his, getting no response for several seconds, Masa too shocked that a super hot person like you was actually kissing him that he forgot he was supposed to participate. finally, Masa let his eyes close and began kissing back, unsure and uncoordinated, but still meaningful

-Tatsu wanted to look cool, but not “yakuza inducing fear” cool, settling on a black jacket and some boots he got during a great sale. to some people walking by as he waited for you, he still looked a little intimidating, but you seemed to match perfectly with him, outfit not too sexy, not too modest, enough to make Tatsu swallow nervously when you approached

-all the nerves and butterflies faded away when you two began stopping by all the craft stands together, Tatsu geeking out over handcrafted bowls, crocheted bird coats and oven mitts of varying sizes and patterns. it was nice, being comfortable enough with you to be himself, his new self that appeared the more time he spent with you

-you had your eyes on a gold and red beaded bracelet, which Tatsu bargained for with the seller for several minutes. in return, you bought him an apron with a cute animated dragon printed on the front; maybe it wasn’t as scary as his other dragon apron, but Tatsu thought maybe that was a good thing

- “Toothless? Who’s that? Some cartoon dragon?”

- silent plans were made to watch How To Train Your Dragon with Tatsu. surely he would love it. second date idea???

-you two stayed close all afternoon, not rushing, not worrying. when people crowded in on you guys, or if some dude got too close, Tatsu would do his “scary face” which was very effective in creating some breathing space; a few times you thought he would at least put an arm around you to lead you away, but he was a true gentleman, and found ways to help you without touch

-when you got hungry Tatsu was quick to suggest his favorite cafe, owned by an “old friend.” even though there was a concerning amount of yakuza members inside, the food was delicious, and you caught Tatsu smiling behind his mug several times

-all in all, your first date with Tatsu went very well: you got a cute bracelet out of it, got to see Tatsu wearing a dragon apron in public, and thanks to the cafe owner, you even got to hear a few embarrassing stories about your date in his past life

- you were sad when the evening came to an end, suggesting that you two do this again soon, which Tatsu seemed pleasantly surprised at. there was definitely more he wanted to experience with you, and told you he looked forward to the next time craft fair

-oh Tora...he was so nervous asking you, his favorite customer out that he almost passed out from relief when you said yes, anxiety quickly returning when he realized you still had to actually go on the date. how would he ever survive??

-Tora no longer lived a lavish yakuza lifestyle, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t take you someplace nice. he remembered everything you had ever told him while stopping by his crepe truck, like how you loved to dance: luckily, he knew a guy who owed him a favor 

-wanting to be mysterious and cool, Tora didn’t tell you exactly what you were doing, just told you to wear a “saucy” dress. he would later regret this suggestion, because DAMN if you didn’t look hot af compared to his greasy ass

- (he looked very sexy too, with his low cut shirt and shiny shoes, in your humble opinion)

-salsa dancing!!! you were so excited as you two walked up to the dance studio, at which point Tora began to panic again, because he remembered a tiny, probably important detail:

- “Shit...I’ve never danced in my life.”

-once Tora got over how close you two had to be, he tried really hard to keep up with your steps, loosening up a little when he saw how much fun you were having. you thought his blush was cute, though, so sometimes you would dip a little too close, trace over his arms a little too teasingly

-when the teacher commented on your dancing skills as a couple, Tora smirked with pride and pretended like he knew exactly what he was doing. then he almost fell on his ass and got humbled pretty quickly

-after a few hours of dancing, Tora expected you to be exhausted and want to go home right away, but accepted eagerly when you suggested drinks. you laughed and talked about your first salsa class as a couple, making the comment that you wanted to do it again sometime

-the prospect of ‘next time’ kept Tora grinning for the rest of the evening. next time for sure, he wouldn’t be so nervous. probably. at the very least, he wouldn’t fall on his ass again (but maybe he would if it made you laugh)

-he had a bunch of ideas for your first date, like laser tag, Pokemon Go!, gaming, watching other people game, etc., which all sounded fun to you, but Tatsu suggested Masa take you to a movie showing at the nearby park

-he was late walking to your house, and you ran into him just as you were leaving. poor boy was already flustered at having overslept his evening nap, and seeing you all cute in your white dress almost made his brain combust. he was so flustered he could barely make conversation all the way to the park

-hoping it would give him something to do (talking usually got him in trouble), Masa bought you guys popcorn, slushies and two bags of candy, all of which was gone by the time you two made it to the front row

-Masa fought an old lady for a spot, but forgot to bring a blanket to sit on, so you ended up having to share a blanket with that same old lady. the og Godzilla was playing, full of action and drama, something you both geeked out to without shame

- “He’s like, so cool and stuff! Did you see when he went pshhhhh, and the water went pwahhhh?! That was awesome!”

-you guys (Masa) got shushed a lot

-Masa wondered if you were having as good a time as him, peeking over at you every few minutes to gauge your reaction. whenever you smiled or laughed, he would sneak a little closer on the blanket until your arms were touching; he wanted to coolly slide an arm around your shoulder, which the grouchy old lady incidentally caused by adjusting her position and nudging you right into Masa

-he was surprised at his success and did not move a muscle for the rest of the movie, even when his arm fell asleep. what was a numb arm compared to you leaning against him? (plus, he was used to having numb arms from all the weird positions he slept in)

-once the movie ended, you wanted to play Pokemon Go! on the walk home, a request Masa was more than happy to oblige--could dates get any better than this? he hoped you would say ‘yes’ next time he asked you out on a date (ofc you would)

- your first date ended with “Pikachu!!! How could you treat me like this?! Why?!” and “Hey Y/N? Could you spot me 100 yen so I can buy more pokeballs? I used all mine on that stupid Ninetails...”

🐉𝒯𝒶𝓉𝓈𝓊🍳

-Tatsu has a pretty good sense of fashion, and he’s more than willing to match with his beloved s/o, and isn’t embarrassed at all

-nothing extremely flashy, but still edgy and yakuza-like. Tatsu looks good in dark colors, gold and red, so whenever you two match those colors are usually involved, and they make you guys look like wealthy assassins

-you had to convince your husband of the leather pants and eventually use your puppy eyes to lock the deal down, because DAMN does the man look good in leather

-endless couple pics when you two match. ENDLESS. Tatsu will probably set them as his phone background and frame the pics, happy to have something that forever immortalizes your chemistry

-when he’s done admiring the two of you as a pair, he will stare at your effortlessly badass and beautiful style for hours, believing you to look far more attractive (and intimidating) than himself, but you and everyone else you know call it an even tie

🐅𝒯𝑜𝓇𝒶𝒿𝒾𝓇𝑜🍰

-Tora tries to look hotter than you all the time, but knows he doesn’t stand a chance when you two decide to match. He comes to terms with it and accepts his fate as the “less attractive” spouse

-more neutral colors, grays, tans, etc., but you always need to have your matching bling! Tora likes to look rich, even if he still works as a crepe slinger, and he wants to show you off

-despite that...Torajiro gets very protective when you guys dress up together. He always had a bad feeling people will mess with you just to piss him off (and he’s right)

-as a result, Tora coolly keeps an arm around your waist or shoulder when you guys go out in matching outfits, just to ward off any unwanted attention. once he’s sure everyone has been scared off, he won’t take his eyes off you

-looks in every single mirror or reflective surface you guys pass and smirks

- “Lookin’ good, babe! Hold on--we gotta post a picture and get more likes than the Immortal Dragon!”

🐕ℳ𝒶𝓈𝒶🥡

 -Masa’s fashion sense has improved since you two got married, and while at first he seems embarrassed to match with you, he eventually realizes this is the perfect opportunity to storm the town as a major power couple like his aniki does

-Masa tries to be cooler than he is, so you pick out a baddie outfit for him that still fits his lazy style; he likes strange patterns, stripes, swirls, that kind of stuff, and bling when he can afford it (or just buy the plastic chains from the 100yen store)

-once he gets over how cool he looks, he’ll step back and be shocked at how wickedly cool you look. that white skirt and loose top that shows your collarbones? MHMMMM

-Masa will strut, and insist you do the same when you hit the streets. He even poses like paparazzi are following you guys or something

-the two of you actually get a lot of compliments on your outfits, which makes Masa cocky, and he asks several people to take pictures of you two and tries to sell them to a magazine. they don’t buy, even though the pic quality is decent

- “They don’t know who they’re messing with! I’ll--well, I’ll--we’ll show them, right?!”
