Summary: What is Alpine Schrodinger's cat?

A/N: I remember first learning about Schrodinger's cat in a group of friends who just seemed much smarter than me. I still don’t think I get it but I wrote about it!

The kitchen is up in smoke. Literally. This is what has lead Bucky down to the lab where his boyfriend regularly finds his time. Finds all his time.

The lab is filled with things Bucky wishes he could understand, but watching Tony hot and sweaty working under cars is a nice sight. That’s not what Tony is doing right now.

“Why do you have Alpine?”

Tony is instead placing Alpine in a box.

“I’m testing a theory,” he says as if that answers any of Buckys questions “what does that have to do with anything?”

Smiling Tony spins around on the spiny chair that apparently he required in his lab, expenses paid. “Have you heard of Schrodinger’s cat?”

This was a topic of debate between the couple. Not Schrodinger’s cat but instead of the cat in question, Alpine, it was safe to say Tony did not consider himself a cat person. “You will not be using my cat as a lab experiment,” Bucky finds himself pouting taking Alpine away from Tony into his arms of safety.

“Schrodinger’s cat is the idea of not knowing if something is alive or dead if you can’t see it. If I were to put Alpine in this box and put the lid on we would no longer know if he was alive or dead until we then open the box. It’s paradox of quantum superposition.”

Bucky looks at Tony eyes wide somehow his arms becoming tighter around Alpine. “You are a mad man Mr Stark,” Tony shakes his head blowing his boyfriend a kiss “nope, just madly in love for you hun.” Bucky takes the flirtatious comment in stride his smile hurting his cheeks.

Alpine in his arms he places his precious back down on the lab table letting her explore. His arms wrap around Tony’s neck leaning into his boyfriend;

“we should order take out tonight,” “why?” “There’s smoke in the kitchen.”

Tony looks over to Alpine smirking “that would explain why the cat is down here, you should probably give her a bath.” Bucky shakes his head into Tony’s neck “you were trying to trap her you should make it up to her.” “She was enjoying the box!”

They laugh, wholeheartedly making it a great night.

“I’m ordering Thai.”

“Sounds great.”

Bucky leaves with a kiss to Tony’s cheek Alpine following along dutifully.

“J, how bad is the kitchen?”

A/N: I just wanted to write some short young Peter and I thought it was cute.

“Puppy!” Little Peter screams as Lucky and him wrestle on the floor in the living room of the penthouse while Tony and Pepper watch on.

“Pete you have to be careful with Lucky, he’s a dog not a toy,” it only makes Peter giggle more, at the bright age of 6 Peter wants a dog like any six year old.

Luckily there’s a visit to the shelter tomorrow so Peter won’t have to wait too long.

“PUPPY!” Peter is happy and that is all that matters to his dad. As long as Peter is happy all is okay with Tony Stark.

Sam had brought the shield with him when he dropped in for their weekly lunch. Bucky wasn't sure why he'd brought it.

Today's lunch was a meatball sub from the best place in Brooklyn. Bucky was looking forward to it in all its messy glory, and the heart-attack inducing garlic bread that came with it.

There was a clatter and a bang as Bucky heard his cat knocking the shield over. By the time he and Sam got up to investigate, Alpine was taking a shit right on the star in the middle of it.
