The text was shot off rapidly as proved by the spelling mistakes. She texted occasionally on and off with the older monkey but practically never called her.

"Aunty...Aunty, Aunty, Aunty..."

"H-help! Somebody h-heeeeelp!" Cheka could barely get the words out as he felt Ivory's tail tickle under his arms, which made him break out into a fit of giggles, making the cub shrink back and eventually lie on his side to avoid the contact if he could. "It tickles!" Well, that was the whole point now, wasn't it? "I-I'm g-gonna-" Cheka had to try his best to get his retort through. "I'm gonna get you w-when I g-get out of h-here!"

Believe it or not! He's actually leaning in for not affection! He's like a puppy! But can you blame him?

[*Horrible Monkey Screeching*]

"I don't get crowds - and this is because branding and easily-digestable stories are easier for people than something nuanced."

Oh, okay. We're doing this? This is the rant? This is the rant.

"I don't write for people to be comfortable, I write for people to feel emotions. To resonate with injustice, and sorrow, and tragedy. People are way more comfortable with happy endings because it's easy, it's comfortable, it demands less from them than stepping outside of their box and experiencing someone else's pain."

"It's lack of empathy, 's'what it is. Or, in the very least, thinking that empathy can be allotted and dished out at one's own comfort, instead of a consistent thing you consistently do. Just because you don't want to empathize doesn't mean you can just turn it off like some - I dunno, vampire? What's got a switch for that sort of thing?"

"You get it though. Empathy. Sadness. Intertwined. Important aspects of media. Mine are intense and people shy away from it, especially when they don't understand who it's about - MK got to the bottom of it and managed it, cuz he's a good kid with a good heart and even if it took him down a different road than I wanted, he still felt something. Kids these days don't wanna feel anything."

He thought he was being polite ( although demanding someone move from your favorite tree even though they'd been sitting there first wasn't exactly reasonable to begin with. ) He can see the cheeky look on the other monkey's face, however, and so he clicks his tongue. ❝ Fine , but don't say I didn't warn you . ❞
