Forcing myself through the exhaustion just to get praise. Finally, finally making something out of myself.

All I’ve done was in pursuit of a decent life.

A normal life.

One which I will never have now, one far beyond me. A life up high, somewhere I can’t reach.

I want a mundane life again.

In my dreams, I wake up in a small home, somewhere in a quiet town.

I feel the warmth of sunlight on my pillow through the window. No thoughts are in my mind. No fears. No worry.

Sure, I may have “succeeded.”

And in doing so, I have lost so much else. I have fallen into a cycle that seems to never end.

I will live here. I will work here.
