Marley Hill Planning Approval
The Yellow Room at Fairhurst has been working on behalf of Buckley Burnett to support the planning application for the conversion of the former Marley Hill Primary School site in the Marley Hill Conservation Area, Gateshead. We are pleased to say that the proposal has been granted full planning permission!
The Yellow Room will continue to work with Buckley Burnett to develop the landscape proposals and prepare a detailed soft landscape design for the site in order to satisfy planning conditions. This has been a great project to work on and we very much look forward to continuing to work alongside Buckley Burnett for Marley Hill and future projects.
Our involvement to date has involved carrying out a site analysis and Landscape and Visual Assessment with Green Belt and Conservation Area commentary of the proposed development and supported the application with a Landscape Masterplan. The housing layout aims to reflect the historic rows of terraces within Marley Hill, with a landscape scheme that enhances the development with a variety of ground cover, ornamental and native planting taking into consideration existing trees and the sensitive setting of the Conservation Area. The proposed planting provides an appropriate level of screening for onlookers whilst retaining key open views into the surrounding wider landscape.
